Reviews of 24 Hour Fitness
"Closing at 9 pm on a Friday??? Come on guys, I love 24hr and the location but how many 1 star reviews do ya'll need before you smart up and go 24hr?? I hate having to go to planet fitness but this is just stupid. "We appreciate your feedback, many locations have returned to 24hr service" Just be better"
"The overall environmental is friendly but they hire a lot of teenagers that use the club as a hang out vs a place of business. Therefore, the front desk can be a challenge when presenting any issues: I have talked about the music for over a year (they do not cater to the people who pay their bills at all - people are always complaining about the music), the equipment is old and outdated (while they fix it occasionally it breaks again to be left for days unchecked), bathrooms are still dirty with an overflow of garbage coming out of the trash cans and the showers floors are not cleaned). While I would love to give an update on how things have changed from my previous review, the only thing notable were some batteries put in a few of the bikes, but they are not calibrated and there is still a bike upstairs where the buttons are completely broken and another where the wheel keeps falling off every time it is used (safety problems) and there were a couple of very necessary fixes with the weight machines that should have been fixed over a year ago. Another problem is that the swim club constantly takes over the bathrooms with not only the swimming pool (completely unusable during the times I go) but they are using the sauna, steam rooms, and showers (bringing their kids in the showers). The way they act they are not paying for a membership. They act like they own the pool area but do not workout. In addition, the hot tub is completely unusable die to its lack of cleanliness. They seem to put the chemicals in during the times I go rather then over night. In any gym setting the gym should be free of safety issues, the equipment updated and checked for problems, clean bathrooms and equipment, and definitely clean pools (anything to do with water). Customer service is a secondary element but necessary. We paid for a 2 years in a row and I feel like we did not get the majority of these basic elements while we were here. If these things are corrected I am happy to update or delete the comments. I noticed you guys tried before when I left my last review but did not quite hit the mark so I thought I would elaborate. The great thing is that I feel heard. Whereas for the last two years my written concerns were thrown in the trash."
"Many aspects of this club are fine. They have plenty of equipment, classes, etc. Where it falls short is in its cleanliness. I’ve been a member of 24 for several years and this is by far the dirtiest. The bottles of disinfectant that they have around the gym for its members to self clean are often empty or near empty. Come on guys, I’m sure there are cleaning crews in the Rock that would be happy to help you out!"
"I’ve been coming here since January. It is my happy place don’t get me wrong. But…Michael the general manager is the worst boss I’ve ever encountered. He makes the employee’s job a living hell. I made friends with everyone who works there when I first started attending. Now all of them do not work there anymore. The place was so much better before Michael took on the management position. Thomas the previous GM needs to come back. Lastly, so many kids attend in the evenings. Stereotypical sit on the equipment for 20 minutes, scrolling on their phones or talking to a huge group of friends. A good amount of the girls that go there dress way too revealing then have the nerve to act surprised whenever they catch men staring at them."
"This is a nice gym but unfortunately the majority of the staff is not helpful. I have been mistakenly told that the cheaper option would be to pay for personal training, which somehow instead was almost $200. I did not show up to a single session and have asked multiple times for help getting a refund (which they said I could do at any time or even after a first session), and instead I was pushed off by multiple employees saying they will write my name down and someone will call me back, or to come in at a separate time. Turns out you can’t get a refund if it has been over 3 days since you payed for personal training (even though I tried many times, no one was able to help me in 3 days and it seems like they knew this). I was then charged again for $180 for personal training. I have been charged almost $400 for absolutely nothing, even though they have told me I can get a refund at any time (especially if I haven’t done any training!) and every time I have asked for help I have been told to wait a few days or that they can’t help me. This is absurd that not a single person has been able to refund me (the one person that did said they had to call corporate and I got denied). Eventually Cooper helped me get it figured out immediately (super helpful guy) and I got a full refund for everything. Good gym if you are looking to workout by yourself but they don’t seem to have any idea how to help customers. They seem to just want your money and don’t care to help you. Most of the employees seem to just stand around and talk except for the personal trainers."
