"This organization cracks me up. I am starting to think they hate revenue. A quality club will have good communication, be responsive, etc. We did the CYL one year… coaching is poor, but the administration is just the worst. You cannot get them to communicate with you. Try emailing them… never get a response. Call them, leave a message… nothing. Maybe they are self-funded or something and don’t actually need growing, recurring revenue streams. Strange. Whatever… gave us the opportunity to go to other clubs in the area that are infinitely better."
"We unfortunately do not recommended this youth league. There is zero communication with parents and it’s very difficult to get ahold of anyone who works there. We had issues with team divisions as well. We paid for “tryouts,” but it was a totally waste of money. Skills are not divided as stated and the 7th grade team was so overloaded with girls that the actually play time on the court was very limited. Several parents reached out about this concern and it was never addressed. During the last week of the CYL league, a male employee asked my 13 year old why she wasn’t going to do club and if it was due to financial reasons. Um, no. You do not ask my child about anything financial nor do you put her on the spot about the many reasons we would not do club at AVA."
"Very bad experience. The coaches used a lot of expletives during practices, as well as public embarrassment. As a parent, I was told I could not talk about issues with the coach or the owners and that my daughter had to follow a hierarchical process, imagine how easy it is for teens to confront the coach who just tried to ridicule them... My daughter also had a non-authorized chiropractic adjustment performed by a guest coach. I complained about it, received an email denying the facts and threatening to forbid me to come to the games. We decided to quit the club and asked for a refund, they refused. the management has no interpersonal or communication skills. This was the third club for my daughter, we had a great experience with the two other ones. Spare your kid and look for another club. Owner's answer: "Hi Sophie. I am terribly sorry you had a bad experience! The club is now under new management and I assure you the previous coaches (and a previous Director) are no longer at the club and the aforementioned behavior will not be tolerated nor will it continue. I’d be more than happy to have a conversation with you if you’d like to give me a call!" HI Carisa, As co-owner of the club, you were copied on all the emails related to the matters I described. So it is not true that the club is "under new management", or that the behaviors won't continue: you were part of them."
"What a group of AWESOME coaches!! They provide the highest training, positive coaching and genuine enthusiasm to all their students. Their team care and skills are shown throughout their lesson from start to finish. It's incredible to see how much confidence, technique, and fun my child is gaining from this academy. Alpine Keep up the noticed efforts and thank you for all you do! This has changed my daughter's life in the best possible way!"
"Pretty bad experience for over $4000 in costs for my daughter. The team never won or improved much and morale was terrible with the girls. *3 different lackluster coaches over the season caused lack of cohesion and team development- Plus a complete incompetence and lack of admin communication from leadership. Evident the club blew up too fast and they couldn’t manage the growth -but were cool taking your money. Better to turn kids away then charge for what you can’t manage and neglect."
