Reviews of Mama Nurture Wellness
"If I could give this thief zero stars, I would. Around November 2016, I was pregnant and looking for a doula. I loved how Meghan was a doula and a massage therapist because I knew massages would be very beneficial towards having a relaxing birthing experience. I was looking to have a completely natural birth. She came over to our house for for our initial consultation. My husband and I really liked her, so we paid the $550, which was half of the Doula fee. I texted her around January 2017 to make an appointment for a massage. She responded quickly and I ended up having the massage and was quite happy with it. Then around early April we were gearing up for the birth of our first child. We had two home visits with Meghan as part of our package. My mom was in town from Arkansas for my baby shower so I thought this would be the perfect time to have the home visit so she could meet Meghan and we could talk about our birth plan. Well, our appointment time came and went and Meghan DID NOT SHOW UP. I texted her to find out what was up and she didn’t respond until the next day. She said that she had totally forgotten and left her phone in the car. She said that we would reschedule for the next month. Well what do you know!?! She no showed again. This time she didn’t even try to say she forgot. She just said that she has a tumultuous home life (going through a divorce and single mom blah blah blah). I told her that I was really disappointed and didn’t really trust her to be there for our birth if she can’t even show up to the prebirth appointments. We said that we wanted our $550 back. She said no problem. Then the lies and runaround began. First it was she would have our money to us once she got her student loan disbursement. Then it was her father had a terminal illness and she had to come up with a lot of money because of her separation. She said flat out she couldn’t pay us back because she didn’t have any money as a single mother. She wanted to pay us back through her doing massages for us. Really?!?! Are you freaking kidding me?!?! First of all I would never have her massage me ever again! Second of all, why should I go out of my way to drive allllll the way to Englewood when I live in Stapleton to get the massages just so I get something for my money. She didn’t even offer to do in-home massages as a way to pay us back. Now it has been about a year since the first no show occurred and about 6 months since we’ve last heard from her. I will tell you DO NOT EVER TRUST THIS GIRL. SHE IS A FAKE, CHARLATAN, AND THIEF."
"My experience today was very unsatisfactory. I would NEVER recommend Megan for any services. I was scheduled at 11 a.m. for a massage appointment that my husband set up for me. Unfortunately, I went to her old address listed on her website at the integrative pediatric center, I had no way to get in touch with Megan so I called the center to ask for her number, they gladly sent me to the Mountain Midwifery Center. When I arrived I felt terrible that I was 15 minutes tardy and asked the nurse/assistant if she could connect me with Megan, she told me she was in a session and proceeded to knock on her door, I was surprised she was in an appointment since it was 11:15 and I was scheduled at 11. When Megan came out, she walked past me and went towards a bathroom, I introduced myself and said "hi, I am your 11am appointment, I am late because I had the wrong address from your website, did you get my messages?" She rolled her eyes at me and said in a very annoyed voice as if I was a huge inconvenience to her, yes I got all of your messages, she told me I was rude to expect her to answer while she was in an appointment, (which honestly I agree, EXCEPT my appointment was for 15 minutes earlier at 11, so she should not have been in a session during my appointment spot) She then told me there was supposed to be 30 minutes in between appointments and something must have gone wrong. OK, I understand things happen...at this point I would expect an apology, such as sorry for the inconvenience, give me a few minutes and Ill be right with you, I apologize for fill in the blank, etc. but instead she rolled her eyes, turned around and walked into a different room. She did not say anything further, such as Ill be right with you, please take a seat, sorry for the confusion, we will get started soon, etc. THERE WAS NO CUSTOMER service what so ever. So I left in tears, she was so unkind and hurtful, obviously she has no self awareness of her behavior or attitude. I couldn't believe I went to an appointment to feel relaxed and left in tears. Apparently, I was a huge inconvenience for Megan, when my husband called for a refund, she claimed she was a single mom, and that she could not give us a refund. She told my husband I was "abusive to the midwife" this was shocking and honestly more hurtful, I was kind, patient, and made sure I was respectful, that is why I asked the nurse/midwife/assistant for Megan's number, so she wouldn't have to keep knocking. My husband told her since we did not receive her services that it would only be fair to get a refund and she refused. She explained she is a small business and a single mom. So for anyone booking with Megan, she does not give refunds. I understand we all have bad days, we are all human, but I am unhappy with this experience. At minimum an apology and a refund would be enough. My husband told her we would be leaving a poor review, she said "I don't care I have 12 years of loyal customers" -Well Best of Luck to you Megan"
"I went and had a massage with Megan at The Family Room last Saturday and it was glorious! Megan knows her stuff. She can address specific issues and give her healing touch to help. I highly recommend her care. Especially for breastfeeding moms, pregnant women and anyone needing to reduce stress."
"I receive bodywork from Megan regularly and I am always very happy with our sessions. She is responsive to my needs and attentive to make sure she is applying proper pressure. Megan knows how to dig in without going too far and always conducts herself in a friendly professional manner. Highly recommended!"
