"Exceptional library! There are so many options for all types of studying. It is a great place to study in peace without any distractions. I love the option for study rooms. I do wish the study rooms, or at least some of them, were sound-proof, however. I know the people outside can hear our conversations if we aren't being very quiet when working on a group project. Other than that, 10/10."
"Mostly quiet and has many floors. Many rooms for studying and cramming. Good place to relax in a quiet and calm space. A school library, so a very academic selection, but very exciting and stimmulating if that's your passion. Helpful staff, mostly made of fellow CMU students."
"I work in the kitchen (yes a kitchen in a library) there and we are awesome. Most people don't know that the library at CMU has a dining area. There is a Mexican themed shop and an Italian themed shop that specializes in pizza, pasta and salads as well as an Einstein's Bros. It is open to the public as well so you don't have to be a student to enjoy our good eats!"
"I prefer libraries that are quiet. This library allows students to be loud so long as they aren't on the third floor. This is a drag because there is a limited number of terminals up there. It would be a 5 star library if the second floor was also a quiet one (study rooms, of course, being the exception). Long story short, 5 star school, 2 star library."
"An excellent modern university library. There is a plethora of screens for access to the online collections and, of course, the internet. Also plenty of nice tables, comfortable chairs, high-tech study and meeting rooms, everything well-lit and encouraging for study and research. There is an Einstein's Bagels at the front entrance where you can get good coffee and a bagel to fuel your labors. The books - a well-rounded and often surprising collection - are on the third floor, compacted onto movable shelves that you have to wheel open to access. The third floor is also the quiet study floor. There is a fascinating special collections room up there also. Downstairs on the first floor are all the periodicals and newspapers, also an amazing collection of books on baseball. The librarians are enthusiastic and helpful. Open until midnight Sunday through Thursday."
