"I used to attend this church many many years ago and it was great, welcoming. Now I have children, 3 yr old twins who are advanced because I'm a teacher. This preschool was the only one to put them in 4/5 yr old class but to begin with they have ONE to TWO themes that they teach for the entire year rather than weekly themes. That should have been my first clue. Immediately, one of my children were being hit... by the older children. I spoke to the teacher, who said that never happens... as she was explaining, there was a 5 yr old girl punching a boy as hard as she could, behind the teacher. There were several little problems that a teacher would be more privy to than the typical parent and in my attempts to speak to the Director about my concerns, for days I couldn't reach her. One day, I was running late, usually pick up around 3 so I had no clue when their actual closing time was. No one from the daycare would answer the phone. I called the church and the woman who answered told me that she would have to walk all the way down to the daycare... as if to tell me that was too much to ask of her. I told her, then yes, that's what you'll have to do because I'm running late and I need to know closing time. This obvious irritation on her part brought up all my irritation that had been building and not getting to speak to anyone. I told this woman that I wasn't able to reach anyone at the daycare for days and I was already having serious concerns about my childrens care. This woman told me to just be thankful for getting care at all. They were having staff shortages and anything was better than nothing. Uh no. The next I picked my children up, still no word from the Director. The Assistant Director brought my kids out from the playground in the shirts, holding their coats, hats. This was the day of the first snowfall and it was freezing out. She was all bundled up in a thick coat. I asked my guys, who were red and clearly freezing, where are your coats, why aren't they on? The assistant director was just smiling at me this whole time, not saying anything. She handed me their papers and their coats, couldn't be bothered to put them on, smiled and said have a good day. I called the director and demanded a call back over her voice-mail. She eventually called and offered, on a Monday, for a time to meet that Friday. I emailed saying that wasn't acceptable. I'd been trying for over a week to reach her and that the assistants directors lac of common sense was enough. The week went by, that Wednesday I referenced being able to finally speak to the director but I was told that since the director hadn't heard back from me, she filled that appointment. Are you serious right now? And what do you mean she hadn't heard back from me?? That Friday upon pick up, the director and some other woman, from the church apparently, handed be a termination notice therein creating unnecessary transition for my kids so soon after starting there rather than take responsibility. Since the church was apart of this decision, now us attending the damn church was taken off the table as well. This is disgusting behavior. I will add that a friend asked the church during the pandemic if they provided any help with diapers and they were given this place the church directs in donations to called Love, Inc, a company specifically there to provide helpbwith diapers. This is actually an organization that doesn't provide help to individuals. I looked into this organization and I cannot find to whom they provide help to at all. So, I guess under the new Pastor and staff, this church is a mess, unwelcoming, cannot take responsibility and are committing shady acts with the funding they receive while not providing help, empathy, or any sort of understanding to how their choices negatively effect children. It's disgusting. I would urge all parents to visit Colorado Shines, the State website to check for this and all daycares' inspection reports which show their violations and complaints before enrolling and throughout their child's stay."
"We have been members of Christ Lutheran Church since 1986. It is a warm and welcoming place and is our church home. The music program is outstanding!"
"CLC is a wonderful welcoming church community where absolutely everyone is invited to share worship. There are programs for everyone and especially the kids and youth, our grandsons love Sunday School. Our Pastors are filled with the Spirit of the Lord and we are so thankful to be a part of this church."
"My family and I recently joined CLC this past Christmas. I never thought I would join another church since leaving the Catholic Church when I was in my early twenties, but something just felt right after attending a few services in the weeks after Christmas. My son absolutely loves attending Sunday school and enjoys all the fun things they have for kids to do here. The sense of belonging and community that is CLC is something we were blessed to stumble upon!"
