Reviews of DSST: Henry Middle School
"An alarmingly out-of-control school. DSST: Henry seems to have an excellent, knowledgeable, and experienced teaching staff. However, the administration is weak, and does not enforce rules, putting both teachers and students at significant risk. Walking the hallways, one hears continual verbal abuse (I heard a student tell a teacher to “get the f--- away from me, you f---ing b----.” This was treated as normal!) and I heard stories about students threatening teachers . . . without being expelled or even punished! What is going on in this school? Students get in fights, teachers are abused and bullied, and the administration does nothing. I was absolutely shocked at what I saw, and I’m definitely not sending my son here. And neither should anyone else who cares about their kids."
"I'm in 8th grade I came here in seventh grade on the first year I came I got bullied so much I met a couple good friends but I was lucky I guess and yet I'm not very lucky either when I'm away from my friends I'm constantly being targeted like today Friday march 3rd 2017,3 kids in the lunch line today pushed me so hard on to metal railings now my ribs are bruising and wow the amount of people who harm them selves cause of the bullying example cutting, pills ect aswell my 7th grade year I missed over 400 classes yes I ditched but in almost every class there was bully and the thief's there wow got my stuff stolen today and yesterday teachers don't punish there kids or known as students but act like animals over all I regret coming to this school next year is the last year of the school do not come to Henry is rather die then go here for another tear"
"Personnally I hated my time at Henry I'm in the 8th grade and the school in my opinion has improved. 6th and 7th though were the worst years of my life. Teachers for the most part are good and nice. The kids are the usually the opposite though. If you are going to Henry for the first time prepare thy anus for it's rough... and to those pf you going into 7th grade try to get mr. Anderson he's the greatest teacher there."
"Went here for two years, worst years of my life. The bullying is horrible, the only thing they do is send them to the office to have a talk... Dean of students specific of mr pollard is probably one of the most rude people I've ever met. That whole school is a joke, I learned nothing by the amount of distractions. Uniform is uncomfortable annoying everything about the place is annoying. Please don't send your kid here.... They don't deserve your kid money anything!"
"I have had 3 children attend Henry over the last 4 years and this year for 2015-2016 has been the ABSOLUTE worst! They school is totally out of control and the staff has NO control over the students. The bullying is totally out of control and the victims end up suffering by being suspended " for their own safety" . I think its a good thing that next year is the last year for Henry but I fear it may not be soon enough."
