"So sad they're the cleanest hospital with the worst care I've ever experienced recently. I told them I was on an empty stomach, all they did was pump me with a gang load of meds, wheeled me to my car and left me there. I never made it out the parking lot. A random person found me vomiting next to my car. They ignored the people that tried calling to alert them about me getting sick in the parking lot. Then after I was seen the 2nd time, I sadly started my cycle which ruined my clothes. I told staff I have family on the way to bring clothes, instead of sympathizing, they told me to wait in the lobby because they wanted to make room for the next person. So cold hearted. On top of that they're responsible for giving me vertigo. After they gave me my blood pressure med, they pumped a different blood pressure med in my IV which dropped my blood pressure down too fast. The last nurse had no compassion and made me feel bad verbally because my balance was off when they tried to discharge me knowing damn well I was not ready to be released. This hospital has changed horribly in the past 13 years."
"I delivered my children at this hospital when it was memorial north And this is the hospital that we go to even though we live closer to others. Our symptoms have never been ignored until recently, and that was because we had a contractor PA in the ER. The past level of care once was very good. Especially if you were admitted. The doctor's and nurses on staff are excellent. I cannot say the same for the PA's and nurses that are out of state contractors. We have gone there for over 16 years. And there was no issues of poor quality care. They really need to get rid of their contractors and keep more full-time staff. The contractors tend to not care about the patients being comfortable and cared for in a good bedside manner. It use to be better and I know it can get there again. They just need to get rid of the contracting uncaring staff."
"I visited the ER earlier this week and saw Dr. Katherine Steinberg. She did not take me or my concerns seriously when I saw her earlier this week at memorial north. I came into the emergency room concerned at 1 AM on Friday morning, but was then told that my symptoms were ‘normal’. I can confirm that this was not normal. She quickly discharged me and told me to wait my symptom out with very little advice on what to watch out for. My mother had to pry for more information and advice on how to treat my symptoms but she gave us very little to work with. It felt like she had better things to be doing than assisting me. I could understand if the ER was busy but we were the only patients there. She did not even give me a proper diagnosis on the cause of my symptoms. In my patient notes she stated that she offered to do lab work and imaging, but neither of these options were discussed with me or my mom. I then had to visit a different ER the next day for the same issue, and at that ER my concerns were promptly addressed, they assured me that this was not normal, and they did lab work and an exam. A waste of time and $150."
"We are so pleased with the care my mom has received in two hospitalizations now. The ER was so efficient and thorough. The staff is competent and helpful. The food is good, which is a real compliment coming from my Mother! Ken H. the Respiratory Therapist even helped my mom by taking her hearing aids off when they were dead and put them on the charger for her, such a helpful gesture. She has been to Penrose Main in the past and we are much happier here, staff seems to be happy to work here and more attentive to their patients. The staff overall is more friendly which my 90 year old Mom enjoys."
"The surgery waiting room was kind of awkward. It was just not really a "peaceful" environment. Very small in size and crowded too. No TVS to watch to waste the time with. And the music they were playing was really annoying. If they didn't play Christmas music the WHOLE time it might be a different vibe. And mind you I waited for like 3 hours. Just too much. But the café was nice though but also needed more "entertainment". They only had 1 TV playing in the café. Which is just weird idk. So had to pass time with a phone or a book or just have someone to talk to. Other than that the experience was okay. However for being a smaller hospital I would think that would mean things would run more efficiently and smoothly. But that's quite the opposite."
