"Incompetent front staff violating my HIPAA in front of the Lobby with patience causing extra Stress and Anxiety. Was on the phone Over 15 minutes for an urgent matter and got hung up on with no returned phone call. Waited for 2 days for a returned call on another matter. Very disappointed in the way that this company runs. :("
"I have been a primary care "patient" at Primary Care Partners (PCP) for more than twenty years. Always showed up for appointments on time, paid bills promptly and referred many friends, family and colleagues for primary care there. Until now... I scheduled my annual wellness (routine physical) exam in the fall of 2023. The visit had to be rescheduled once because Dr. John Flanagan had a date conflict. I provided updated medical insurance information during the online, digital, pre-checkin process. I updated their "patient portal" with the same insurance information. I also provided my insurance card/info at check-in at the front counter on the day of my appointment. I showed up, on time, for my 11-13-23 exam with Dr. Flanagan. During the routine exam, Dr Flanagan asked if I was experiencing any other health issues or concerns. HE DID NOT DISCLOSE that by simply answering his question about pre-existing injuries to my arm...I would also incur an additional $30 office visit copay fee. There was no such fee required for the annual wellness exam itself. The check-out desk was closed prior to the conclusion of my appointment. There was no one at the front desk as I left the exam area or the additional $30 copay would have been addressed at that time. Several weeks later I received in the mail, "cash pay" (no insurance) bills from PCP, St Mary's lab and a local pathologist that analyzed the lab work results. PCP had failed to bill my insurance or provide insurance information to the other two parties for the 11-13-23 visit. I personally had to contact PCP, St Mary's and the pathologist to have the amounts appropriately billed to my insurance. To add insult to incompetence...I received a bill dated 12-27-23 from PCP for the undisclosed office visit copay in the amount of $30. I appealed that the fee should be waived under the circumstances. Dr. Flanagan had often discussed other issues with me during previous annual exams/physicals with no resulting additional charges. Tiffany, billing department supervisor, Crystal Davis - Office Manager and Dr. Flanagan each refused to waive the $30 copay/fee for a responsible, long term patient. I made it clear that I would not pay the $30 and IF the bill was sent to collections...I would instigate a small claims court action against all parties involved. I also made it clear I would seek another primary care provider. Clearly, Dr. Flanagan and PCP could care less about losing long-term, responsible and upstanding patients in lieu of collecting $30 for their coffers. Subsequently, I received an unsigned, generic, patient dismissal letter from PCP via certified mail. Ironically, they spent $10 to send me the letter. The letter states "The physicians of Primary Care Partners, Inc. feel we are unable to meet your needs." Obviously retaliatory since I have minimal needs and rarely see a doctor. I also received email notification that PCP had disconnected, as my primary care provider, from the online patient portal. Complaints will be forwarded to my insurance carrier, the Colorado Medical Board, Colorado Medical Society, American Medical Association and National Board of Medical Examiners. I will also provide copies of all correspondence, etc to Larry Jokerst, Practice Administrator at PCP and potentially select local media outlets. I note other similar reviews along these lines for those who read reviews. I will be restating this one on several appropriate websites that host reviews for primary care providers. Caveat aeger (let the patient beware) of this practice."
"I had my annual physical the end of October. My insurance was billed for my physical plus an additional charge for an office visit. I disputed this additional charge since my doctor had previously told me that an office visit could be additionally charged when patients bring new concerns during their annual physicals. I did not bring any new concerns. My doctor now states that because we "covered" chronic conditions we already know I have, don't have any problems with, and didn't need a office visit for during the year, that they can charge an additional office visit now. This sounds like a way to charge an additional office visit for that year even if you don't need one. Below is a copy of the answer I received from my doctor. The additional charge was because we also covered your hypertension, prediabetes and osteopenia. Since this was your only visit all year they get charged separate from the physical exam. Managing chronic medical conditions is coded separately from the physical. Update: thanks for the canned response. I left a message with the office manager yesterday. No call back. If you had any interest in speaking with me you would call. You have my number."
"I’ve seen a few providers here and was disappointed with my care. Overall these doctors try to manage everything themselves rather than refer to a specialist. -5 years ago no one wanted to scan me after sudden development of migraines everyday. Their goal was to attempt medication until insurance would pay for Botox. 3 years later my GYNECOLOGIST referred me to the neurology clinic. -Another GENERAL practitioner attempted to stop my husband’s GERD medication that a gastrointestinal doctor prescribed him. -I had pain in my lower leg/ankle with running, x-rays looked “normal” and I was told it was shin splints. Got a second opinion and discovered I had an unhealed stress fracture. Again, they do not refer people to the specialists patients need because they know they will loose money that way. This results in inappropriate and poorly managed care."
"Been a client of this office for over 12 years. The first 5 I felt like I was getting decent care, but the last 7 had been a progressive nightmare. This last year I developed horrible cronic condition, and made appointment after appointment to figure out what was wrong. Sure, they obliged me with blood tests, but when they turned out normal, they tried to make me feel like it was all in my head. So I didn't give up, I switched providers, and still had to fight to get to a diagnosis. Turns out, I have life threatening heart and breathing(02,c02) problems. Please people... don't rely on the medical construct alone, be your own advocate. Research, research research, and make them do their job. After all, they do work for YOU."
