Reviews of Children's Academy & Childcare
"I would choose zero stars if possible. First I will say this place is only open because it’s affordable compared to everywhere else. I would only use this place as a last option. They have all kinds of rules. Like the ones in the previous reviews. When I drop off my child. He has to be on a certain side of the car and must be unbuckled and ready to jump out of the car. You cannot drop off your child by walking them up to the front of the school. You need special permission to walk your child to the front door. You have to leave your child’s water bottle there. You leave their backpack there all week. His pumpkin seeds got sent home because I guess those are not allowed at school. They told me no peanuts and pumpkins seeds are not peanuts. My child said he doesn’t like this school because Ms Judey yells a lot. I really wish I made enough to send my child to a proper pre-school. He used to go to Primrose but that got too expensive. The kicker is it’s only been two weeks and we are ready to leave. Is everyone in the same boat that sends their kids here? No other choice?"
"These teachers think they can tell you how to parent. The first time Ms. Judey asked me if my son had toy guns at home or if he watched violent stuff at home because he was play fighting at school. Well duh! He’s a four year old boy! Yes he has toy guns and swords. She could have simply said that he is play fighting too much at school instead of asking me what he does at home. Next at the end of the year she asked me to talk to my son because he was refusing to participate in graduation rehearsals. She threatened to remove my son from standing with his class if he didn’t behave.(she didn’t. And good for her, I would’ve ruined the graduation for everyone if she had.) what she didn’t understand is that my son takes a little longer then other kids to learn and understand. She has zero patience. He wasn’t purposely refusing. Even at the graduation I could see he was lost and he even forgot a lot of his words and yes he gets frustrated. Lastly, they required face masks at graduation which is fine but at this time they were the only place I went to that was requiring them. My sons dad had forgot his mask and I asked the lunch lady if they had extras she responded with, “they made sure to let all the parents know to bring their mask.” And she kept repeating it. At my job when masks were required we had extras for customers, you would think that would provide extras if they were requiring it and not be rude about it if they didn’t. Lastly, the stupid thermostat outside. It was freezing that morning so obviously I had the heater on in my car. Ms. Judey took my sons temp. And kept coming out too hot. So I said, “can’t you take him out the car and take his temp? It’s freezing and I don’t wanna have him freezing.” She said she couldn’t take his temp outside and made me drive back around the circle with the windows down. It made me mad when after a while they would take the temps outside the cars with all the kids. There were also kids that would walk to school and they got their temp checked outside. I feel she really just wanted to give me a hard time. It felt that way constantly. She’s the worst of all of them! She’s ridiculous and thinks she can tell you what to do. If you send your kids here make sure you put her in her place!!"
"The fact the won't even comment at all about the letter they sent to a parent after refusing a child to eat is more than despicable, its over reaching on every boundary imaginable. By not taking responsibly and explaining their actions, why on earth would they expect anyone to leave their children with them to learn that as a principle going forward?!?!? one of the most important lessons in life over how to teach 2 + 2 = 4 is how to acknowledge when you did something wrong, state why to understand it, and apologize for it and this money grubbing grown ups can't even do that. Do not leave your children with these people. they do not teach anything but what makes them money, definitely not anything of character. up to you if you want your child learning that kind of character from this failed place. Good luck."
"Reading the short note sent home with the child who one day brought Oreo cookies revealed a surprising lack of nutritional knowledge: [1] Potatoes are full of carbohydrates. The last thing that should be recommended to pair with potatoes would be bread, which is also high in carbohydrates, even the best whole grain breads. [2] Peanut butter is an excellent snack. It has as much protein as it has carbohydrates, so it should be encouraged as a snack. It should NOT be on the "bad" list"
"My kids have attended here a little over 2 years and I can truly say my kids are way over achieving what kids their age are normally. I’m super happy with everything. I love the class sizes! The food is completely good variety and always healthy. I can totally say these reviews about that situations years back doesn’t give this school the credit they actually deserve!"
