"About a year ago, this clinic changed from thrive to vetco and unfortunately everything went downhill. Thrive was super affordable and we enjoyed our monthly $10 plan that covered check ups and gave discounts on medicine, etc. Vetco is extremely expensive compared to thrive. They also don’t offer surgeries at this location anymore. I dislike that you can’t directly call the clinic, but instead have to call the general number, which takes so much longer. Thrive always sent us text updates for appointments and shots. The new system does not let you know when vaccines are due and I didn’t get any notices (emails or calls) letting me know several vaccines have expired. If you see reviews on here that are more than a year old, just know that the clinic has changed and the old reviews were written about thrive, not vetco"
"Very very disappointed so hard to find good vet care this place is not it don't believe the reviews. I spent over $500 thought my dog might be experience trachea issues walked out of there after paying for X-rays they can't read with heart medicine they don't know if my dog even needs but cost over $100 bucks but now my dog is coughing even worse and 3 weeks later they still can't read the X-rays or update me I basically gave $500 to them for $100 bottle of nmedicine my dog may not even need it's surely made it worse . Please save your money and pet go some place else tried to give them a second chance but could not get a followup appt the receptionist was really rude. I give up on this place worst money I ever spent if you love your pets don't take them here please"
"I had a wonderful experience at this location. The Vet Tech Kristy, and the doctor, Kelly Stalpes, were both so thoughtful and kind. I was having such a stressful day with my cat being sick and all of the potential money we needed to spend to get him better, and they both just helped so much with easing my concerns and going above and beyond to help where they could. Thank you so much to both Kristy and Kelly, I was so glad to have Archie in good hands while he was there!"
"I strongly regret going to this clinic. I have tried time and time again with this clinic in hopes that they were only having a rough few days.... I first visited this location with all four of my fur babies (2 cats and 2 dogs) in May of 2023 for their annual vet visit, everything seemed fine. One of my cats is a senior baby. We did a senior profile on him and talked about bringing him back in for further treatment. They sent us home with some prescriptions and some homework (a probiotic, a streiod, some special food to order and a urine sample to get). We followed everything they said. Then, before they ran another test on him, We get a call from another vet from the same clinic that said they weren't sure why they were using such an aggressive treatment (the streiods). We dropped our kitty off at the clinic (after being told the vet called out, but since we were just doing a bladder poke, we could come in). We called to check in the day of the appointment about 4 different times, not once reaching the actual clinic. Then we never received the results of the bladder poke. We did recieve another call from the clinic (again, it was a different vet) stating that our furbaby needed to be weaned off of the streiods. We finally decided to go to a different vet and when my new vet tried to get my cat's medical records from Vetco. Vetco only sent them a summary from our original appointment (which didn't even have a description of our cat). We are now in a tough situation where his special food is out and we aren't able to get it order through Petco (Vetco Total Care in the Arvada Petco prescribed the food, Petco {which owns Vetco Total Care} can't verbally confrim the prescription, and my new vet agreed with the food but didn't see the need to re-write because my current prescription was working) and the Vetco Total Care in the Arvada Petco is closed until the 29th even though Google says they're open.. Again, I will say, I strongly regret ever going to this Clinic in the first place...."
"Avoid this place. I have taken 2 dogs and a cat there. Every time I go in for an appointment, I wait at least 30 minutes for my pet to be seen. They also seem to always come up with something additional to pay for. Today I waited 45 minutes for a cat nail trim. The tech came in and after 45 minutes and told me, oh by the way, you need an annual exam too. Um, what? Sure, you need $120 for the vet to listen to heart and lungs, look at teeth, and weigh my cat (exactly what I was told the vet would do). I was told they would not do the nail trim without this exam. I had no idea when I booked this usually 5 minute nail trim I should plan to pay $140. I was also talked into getting Vital Care previously, on the premise it would only cost my $20 each time for my cat's nail trim. What a scam. After a solid hour of waiting, they come back to tell me they could only trim 12 of her nails, she would not let them do it (yes, that is why I have to bring her in), and when I asked why they didn't use the helmet on her that worked seamlessly the last two times was told they didn't have it any longer. Shocker it did not work. I was also told in a shameful voice - YOUR cat scratched me, now I have to go to urgent care. Clearly they don't know what they are doing here. I was then charged $47 - $4 per nail basically. I had to argue what an absurdity that was and go through 2 people to get a discount. I am yet to have a good experience here with my dogs or cat. I have been a vet tech before, I know what it is like. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. Please avoid."
