"I just had my first massage here. They got me in at the last minute which was great. When I walked in they had a policy to pay at the beginning. That was a bit off putting since you are never supposed to have to pay for a service until it’s complete. The lady who massaged me was incredibly nice. She was sweet and checked in on me a lot. She seemed not to be rushing and she really seemed to care about me having a good experience. Unfortunately the experience wasn’t good for a prenatal massage. I’m not sure if it’s because Chinese prenatal massages are different. I have had a completely different experience getting prenatal massages elsewhere. I know she was trying to be very careful of pressure points which are recommended to avoid during pregnancy but this usually isn’t a problem at other massage therapists. Although this business advertises that they do prenatal massage, they did not have the proper pillow for a pregnant woman. Despite the very sweet ladies trying get me set up with pillows, I was unfortunately pretty uncomfortable most of the massage without the proper pregnancy pillow. I’m used to my prenatal massages still being firm and loosening up my muscles. This massage was so light, and it didn’t feel like it did anything for my pain or my headache. I tried to express this, but I know the lady was worried about being too firm with me being pregnant. I’ve read other reviews that seem to suggest more firm massages that worked well for many people, so potentially this problem was specific to the prenatal massage. The sheet wasn’t quite large enough to cover me and despite the lady’s attempts to keep me modest, I felt exposed at times. I also didn’t feel like she was able to adjust me into ergonomic positions using the pillows they had. The pillows didn’t appear to have covers that I would assume are washed between services, so I was unsure how sanitary the pillows were. The room I was in was right next to the entrance and the walls are thin so it was a little weird to hear people walking in. The lady turned down the lights which was nice, but I still had trouble relaxing. The hot towels at the end were nice. The place appeared clean and they offered me water. It’s hard to give a lower rating because of how nice the ladies were, but I want a different experience from a massage…especially one I am paying so much money for ($72) so I will likely not be returning despite their kindness."
