Reviews of Nancy Lewis Park
"This place is a hidden gem. It is so peaceful here. The fountain is beautiful, the playground is clean and well maintained. So much nicer than many of our other city parks."
"Beautiful Park. Well maintained. Friendly people and dogs. Great place to walk your dog or simple take a walk and enjoy the beauty."
"I love this park! There's a pond that has a large sprinkler/sprayer in it, with a paved trail going around it for a nice short walk. A trail also goes around the rest of the park if you want to take a longer walk. There is also a little waterfall with a large stepping stone path going over the bottom part where it runs into the pond. There are benches for you to take a rest and enjoy the view, which is beautiful, not just of the park itself, but also the view of Pikes Peak. Many ducks call this place home, and when you're lucky, you can see their ducklings. I've also seen geese and once, a heron. I have also seen a goldfish, which Im hoping someone didn't just dump their pet in there, but that's probably exactly what happened, and I've seen a slider (turtle). The pond also has beautiful lily pads growing in it with different color blooms. They also have a little planter area with lots of different flowers. Around the park are different trees, which are great at providing shade. I have seen people take advantage of that and have a little picnic or read a book or just relax. The park also has a pavilion, which I believe you can rent for parties or events. There is also a sand volleyball court, but you would need your own ball to play with. If you need to use the restroom, they have them there available to use; I have not ever used them, so I cannot tell you the condition, but they are there if you need them. The playground is nice and has a variety of things for children of multiple ages. Smaller slides, bigger slides, things to climb on, a music area with drums, and lots of space to run. There are also different types of swings, the regular ones you see at most playgrounds, the ones used for little kids, and they also have a swing for someone with special needs to use, which is awesome, and I've seen plenty of people use it. The playground also has a rubbery/foam ground, so if/when the kids fall, it won't hurt as much. Plus, you don't have to clean gravel, sand, or mulch out of their clothes, hair, and/or shoes. The playground also has some workout stations off to the side, so you cannot get a little workout in while your kids play. I will say I have never seen anyone working out with those, but I have seen plenty of kids play on them lol. Only downside I can think for this park is the parking, which is street parking. TLDR: It's a great park and you should check it out."
"We explored this park yesterday for the first time and I could not get over how adorable it was. The entire park is so well kept and clean. The pond is very peaceful for reading or just people watching, the playground is great for both younger and older children, and the grassy area is great for picnics. I also loved that the playground is accessible for all kids. Highly recommend!"
"Beautiful park with a pond, a small waterfall, ducks, and geese a fairly clean restroom big open field and playground with workout equipment. Also, there are plenty of benches, trash cans, and eating areas. Highly recommend!"
