Reviews of Daveco Beer, Wine & Spirits-Thornton
"Great staff and HUGE selection. Prices are reasonable. Tons of store picks"
"Don't go wearing patriotic clothing. I left my ID in my car. Asked if I could grab it. Was told no, as Jim canceled my order. My husband brought my ID in. We were told to leave. Jim being extremely short with us. We are both wearing shirts that are (grunt style). Was the only reason we could even think Jim could be so extreme to getting us to go. This was a first. We've shopped here for years with no issues. Will be our last."
"Daveco is a huge store, with an amazing selection of beer, wine, and spirits. The employees are more likely to ask if you need help then for you to try and hunt one down. The store has a tasting area. Although I have never attended a tasting, the atmosphere and set up look nice. I always find good sales, or even clearance items. Plenty of parking, and an easy on-off from Interstate 25."
"Big store doesn’t equal good store. I can only talk about the bourbons and craft beer. Nice selection of bourbons. Fair prices. Too bad they don’t care about the craft beer. Since they have opened I have found their handling of craft beer strange. In a state that has so much local beer and access to craft from other states, they do a horrible job. Empty sections wasting space instead of placing new items to sell. Lazy? Not caring? Not sure. The cold room with beers is unorganized. Some breweries have stuff in one place but look elsewhere and some more. No alphabetical order. No grouped by style. You have to look at all the areas to try and find what you are searching for. They have assorted displays of overstock both in the cooler and outside of it. If they have empty spaces why not put the over stock in it at least? How long does the overstock just sit and get old? In the cooler I could boxes of beers just sitting. After a 15 minutes search, I found no labels for these beers yet lots of spaces for it? Are they so lazy that putting an open box out for customers to pull from saves you time from putting on shelves and making labels? They have a single can and bottle section with some six pack holders. No idea if there is a discount offered since there is no signage anywhere near the beers. Go here for bourbons. If you want craft beer, go elsewhere. Update - the beer selection is now even worse. I was in on 1/22 to look at bourbons when I decided to stroll the beer coolers. I found three Boulder Beer items (see pictures). The thing is that brewery closed a few years ago but sold the brewing rights to a contract brewery in Denver. Last year, I learned they stopped all Boulder Beer brewing. So seeing these beers made me wonder if something changed and someone else had taken the reins. NOPE! These beers are just sitting in coolers getting older. How many of the other beers are just aging away. Be sure to make sure your beer is fresh since they aren’t!! Now I might take all my business to someone else who care about what they see to customers. Now one star."
"I was visiting the Denver area and decided to make the world's largest liquor store a destination. Great place, and it's dog friendly. I've joked with friends that they should put me in charge of their marketing. There's a small area just inside the front door that should be selling T-shirts, mugs, shot glasses, etc. with Daveco / The World's Largest Liquor Store. I would have bought all of that..."
