With a total of 27 medals, including prestigious awards from the Governor's Cup and Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, our winery prides itself on producing high-quality wines.
Founded in 2014 by winemakers from Croatia, Purgatory Cellars Winery combines a passion for winemaking with a love for Colorado and its grapes. The winery provides a family-friendly atmosphere, welcoming children with their parents to enjoy the experience.
One of the standout features of Purgatory Cellars Winery is the use of Georgian Amphora (Qvevri) clay pot containers for storing and fermenting wines. Dating back to the 6th century B.C., this ancient winemaking tradition is experiencing a revival among brewers and vintners worldwide. Purgatory Cellars Winery is proud to be one of the few wineries in the United States utilizing this method for significant production, making it the first winery in Colorado to introduce Amphora-aged wines.
Visitors to the winery can witness the Amphorae onsite and experience the unique flavors and complexity that this ancient winemaking technique brings to the wines. Come visit Purgatory Cellars Winery for a one-of-a-kind wine tasting experience in a European-inspired setting.

"Came here for a date. Let’s just say I’ll be seeing Purgatory more than the man. The wine was good. Service was amazing, and spring by the fireplace was romantic."
"I had a friend visiting from out of state and even though he doesn’t drink, we wanted to go for the ambiance. We got there with an hour left before closing. There was only one other couple there so we sat across from them at the fireplace. What a beautiful place! The girl who was working seemed bothered by us arriving and our ignorance of the menu (my first time there). She seemed even more put off when we asked for a charcuterie board. When I asked for a glass of wine and the board, she angrily grabbed the menu and didn’t even ask my friend what he wanted. When he was finally able to ask her for coffee, she walked away without asking him if he wanted anything in his coffee. Horrible service by a woman whose name I did not catch, but she has long, straight, brown hair and was crocheting a sweater that evening (1/8/24). Maybe we were taking away from her project. I just don’t know if I want to deal with that kind of service again, which is unfortunate since I just moved to Parker six months ago."
"Amazing little place to enjoy terrific award winning wines. The owners are very personable. Marko takes the time to learn your taste and set you up with fabulous wines to suite your taste. Will return often"
"What a great little place! Stopped in one afternoon and hung out with the owner, or one of the owners, Marco over a couple flights. The wife and I mentioned what we tend to favor and proceeded to set us up with delicious recommendations. Will certainly return, thanks Marco!"
