Reviews of Highline Lake State Park
"Great place for camping, fishing, boating, swimming, biking, hiking, and picnics. When we went, they had just treated the lake, so you couldn't fish, swim, boat, or let your dogs near the water. We did enjoy hiking the perimeter of the lake, and there are several other connecting trails in the area for hiking and biking. There's a great playground equipment set for the kids and a nice campground. There's something for everyone here!"
"The views are always great as well as the night skies. The facilities are surprisingly clean, including the laundry. The staff at this park sets the example for polite and professional."
"I wasn't sure what to expect at this Park. I have fished their many times, but never spent the night in Bookcliffs Campground. After spending a few days there at the end of September, I can honestly say that I will make this an ongoing, yearly experience! What a beautiful, mellow, secluded place! It appears to be a local secret, and I can totally see why. There's so much to do considering the activities this lake affords its visitors. Do yourself a favor and visit the website for all the details and options available. There’s something very special about seeing Eagles, Osprey, Blue Heron, Hawks and other birds almost every time I visit this park. And being able to catch Bass in this lake is a blast for the otherwise typical Trout fisherman. The staff in the Park Office and Visitor Center go above and beyond to make sure you are well informed upon your arrival. They can offer and provide you with any information or outdoor essentials you might need during your stay as well. Special thanks to Alan, Leah, Vicky and Sue for their ongoing hospitality! I hope to see you again soon!"
"Great State Park with boating, fishing, swimming and hiking. Lots of shade with picnic tables near beach. Also covered tables on hiking trails available. We did not camp (dry camping) but th CG looked well maintained like the rest of the park. Dogs allowed on trails and in lake (not at beach)."
