"A friend and I wanted to stop by a local coffee shop and I stumbled upon this one on Google maps. Luckily, it is only 10-15 minutes away from both of us. Parking was ample at that time of day (11am). It is very comfortable and intimate. There was a lot of people working from their laptops and a couple of groups just chatting with their drinks. I would love to come back here and grab some food since I didn't try any this visit. I highly recommend this place."
"CAVEAT: Former employee I worked at Zoes for only 2 weeks. Why only two weeks you may ask, well most of it came down to cleanliness and food practices. The owner came to me asking me to reuse the already frothed milk from the previous drink I had already made saying the milk left over is expensive. Mind you it was maybe about 4-10 grams of milk I had left in the pitcher. This was already on top of the cleanliness issue I had with the shop. The owner did not want to give the employees extra time to actually clean, you had to find time to do it during your shift even if customers were inside the shop. During my first 3 shifts (all of witch I still was not given my own clock in or paper work due to her firing another employee) all I did was clean instead of train. I found moldy food, oil build up, and in the back storage cups and plates being stored on top of a old toilet. There is a dog that goes in and out of the kitchen, the owner brings milk from home in flower pots for you to use, and worst off the owner pressures you into making bad coffee and knows nothing about the machines in the shop. I have read a few of the other reviews and the owner responds in bad reviews that they do 2 shots when other shops only do 1. This is far from true. The owner won't know what dialing in the coffee is but most shops do a typical 18 to 20 grams in and 36 to 40 gram out American single shot. Aka a actual double shot. This should take the machine about 25 to 35 seconds. On a slower closing shift (like 4 days in still no personal clock in or paper work) I took time to look at the settings on the coffee. The grinder gave anywhere from 15 to 18 grams (not bad range) and the machine put out about 32 grams at 42 seconds. Needless to say this coffee is not dialed in at all. I also while cleaning found build up in the hot water spout in the espresso machine. When I tried to clean it out it let out a water flow that would not stop meaning the gunk had been holding back the water. I spent a hour with a customer inside the machine tightening valves to keep the water from coming out. When I asked about. the maintenance on the machine the owner said she had never run cleaning chemicals through the internals. This is a big no no and cleaner should be used on the group heads and internals regularly. I kinda knew this was not being done when I started to clean the milk tips at the end of a shift and the owner asked what I was doing. There are a few other big food handling issues and cleanliness issues that the health department needs to address. Big one being eggs are microwaved (not the end of the world but not great) and not dated. Owner also encourages you to use the counter rag for everything, even cleaning the steam wand if its cleaned at all. Pastries are not dated after opening and outside food is often brought in from the owners home. Its been a while since I worked at Zoes so why wait to write a review? Well i was waiting on my unpaid wage ticket with the depart of labor to process. I have still yet to be paid for my first week at Zoes and have finally received confirmation that a agent has put me in the que and that I can make this review without fear of those wages being effected by my claim. When taken off the schedule without my notice I did not get a final pay check for almost 2 weeks, I got one hand written check that was dated 5 days previous than it was actually written because I did get a partial check the day before that one and I have still yet to get my requested tip break down (pretty sure the owner takes out tips for themselves). When I asked for my last bit of wages I was told by the owner "I worked for the FBI I know what I am doing" and was told I would get them when I get them. That has yet to happen. All that said my coworkers were amazing. Very hard working people who despite having their schedules changed often the day before made it to work. reply to owner: you mean not paying me correctly, and possibly stealing tips from your employees? Maybe read the full review before making assumptions."
"I have been looking for a cozy, comfortable, and relaxed cafe to come in on my days off to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book and this is it! I absolutely love the welcoming atmosphere and how delicious every drink has been. So far the apple cider chai and the blue Christmas latte have been my favorite but there are so many flavors and different drinks it's hard to pick a favorite! I honestly feel like Judy (the owner) genuinely cares about the customers and the quality of each order and has asked how I like it each time, plus the cute little pup Chai is a great addition too! Thank you for providing such a wonderful business to our community!"
"Such a warm place :) I went there on Saturday and I was so happy . I met Zoes grandmother so welcoming. I had the lemon gluten free muffin and it was so good. Please go and spend a different experience ."
"ZOES is a nice little place! What made this experience 5 stars was definitely the servers - they were super friendly and enthusiastic about making our drinks just as we like them. The food was pretty good too! A bit pricey, but was a pleasant brunch spot."
