"This is an edited version from just a few moments ago. I wanted to make sure I got the correct office notated on my review. I visited the Pagosa Springs office. Staff was very professional in the main office. The dentist and her assistant was very patient, caring and conscientious of my comfort. They were not wasteful 8f time but took advantage to accomplish all that could be in the visit. All showed showed real concern and interest in helping."

"I have been very satisfied with the quality of care at Axis. Everyone I've spoken to has been very kind and helpful. However, there is a very serious problem going on here regarding staffing. I was taken to the emergency room for chest pain, and was instructed to follow up with my PCP within two weeks. I was told that there are ZERO openings until December. I understand that this is not any one person's fault, but that is just blatantly unacceptable. No one should have to wait four months to see a doctor. It is VERY difficult to get an appointment with anyone here. My recommendation is to hire more staff, and pay them enough that they don't feel the need to seek other employment. I was told that two medical professionals have left Axis recently. It is worth noting that another clinic in town, Innovation Medical, was able to schedule an appointment for me two days after I called them. Again, the quality of care at Axis has been fantastic, but the staffing issues are extremely serious and need to be treated as such. I understand that the population of Cortez has grown rapidly over the past several years, but Axis needs to compensate for that by ensuring that they are FULLY staffed at all times, so that the people of Cortez who NEED medical care, can get it without having to shop around. Updated to remove one star. I had an appointment scheduled with a psychiatrist today, and it was scheduled at least a month ago, if not two. I walked halfway across town only to be told he was out of the office, and they could see me next month. This is entirely unacceptable. The people of Cortez deserve better than this. Please, Axis, I implore you, HIRE MORE DOCTORS. AND PAY THEM ENOUGH THAT THEY ACTUALLY WANT TO STAY! This is utterly ridiculous.Oh, and they also changed my therapy appointments from weekly to biweekly, without telling me first or giving a reason why. I would like to reiterate the fact that the care I have actually received has been great, but it shouldn’t be this hard to get it. I don’t know what to say other than this is completely unacceptable, and I’m very upset."

"The front desk staff was very helpful, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to work with me (visual impairment makes screens difficult). The medical assistant was very professional, gentle & made me feel at ease. The nurse practitioner spent quite a long time with me, was very thorough, has a great sense of humor and really wants to dig deep to find the root cause to a very complicated issue. My visit was wonderful, and I highly recommend the entire clinic and staff. Alicia"
