The Valley Steakhouse 1684 U.S. 40, Vernal, UT 84078

"We’ve tried this place a few times, we used to enjoy it a lot more but went in today and the booth they sat us in smelled like urine, probably the old carpet. The service is just ok but the people that work there look dirty like they don’t shower or wash their hands. There was a girl sitting in the booth near us who apparently worked there but was off today - her boyfriend was talking about cocaine. The waitress (her coworker) stood around talking with them for a while. The place was pretty empty so she wasn’t busy anyway but the whole conversation was unprofessional, including her saying she asked the cooks to make sure the lobster wasn’t rubbery because it was for a coworker. The fact that their standards are so low for every other paying customer is a huge disappointment. The 3 bites I took of my burger had bones or something in it. I couldn’t even eat it. We boxed up the food, paid and left. Threw the leftovers away. Everyone is sloppy and the place is super crusty, I don’t know how they stay in business. We obviously wont be back."

"I tried the $10 lunch special steak. My wife had the nachos, and my daughter had a salad. The food was all right, the steak cooked just a little past the medium rare I ordered, but it was juicy and tasted good. Drinks are rather expensive at $2.99 for soda on top of the lunch special price - but that seems to be the going thing at restaurants nowdays, charging a fortune for the drink that costs them next to nothing. Overall it was a decent lunch, but with drinks and tip I spent $50 for 3 people, so not as inexpensive as it seemed."

"A delightful surprise hidden away in the hotel. The 16 Oz ribeye was a good cut and cooked perfectly and the coconut shrimp were also a favorite. The dining room is very nice and they did a good job labeling gluten free options as well, should you need it."

"Nestled inside the Quality inn, they have an off the charts steak house with an amazing lounge with great drinks and billiards and some of the best food I have ever tasted. I absolutely love the atmosphere and staff. I will be back."
