"Update: I did receive a call and voicemail from the office manager, Liz (who was not present in the office during my visit), apologizing for what happened and asking me to call back to discuss. I called back about an hour later, left a voicemail, and never heard back (this was 6 days ago). Kind of solidified my decision to look elsewhere for care. Original post: I am really disappointed by my experience this morning. I was coming in for my 6-month cleaning (which I scheduled 6 months ago, after my last cleaning). I arrived at 7:50AM for my 8:00 appointment, and after watching 6 people show up and be brought back immediately, I asked the front desk if I had the wrong time—it was nearly 10 after 8. After some back and forth, they let me know that my hygienist was running late, so I would need to wait for another hygienist to finish a cleaning (30+ minutes) or I could come back later in the morning/afternoon. As the first appointment of the day, I don't understand why they couldn't let me know before I arrived. I would have expected being informed before I took off work, had my partner stay home from the office so I could use the car—and when 6 other patients who showed up after me are lead to the back, let me know what happened, or even discuss amongst themselves how to support me. My time is as important as your (dentist/hygienist's) time, and I wish I had felt valued in that way—but I do not."
"My wife and I contacted the office about scheduling appointments as new clients in November and early December. They offered my wife an appointment that she accepted for December 6th. Two weeks later they tell her that the time slot is no longer available but would be placed on a priority wait list. The office is unprofessional in communication and waiting weeks to respond or indicate the availability of an appointment is unacceptable. I would recommend going elsewhere."
"We are leaving this practice. Hubby had devices made for him to wear while he is in process of two front teeth removal and waiting for healing to have implants. They did not fit, he went back to have them adjusted and was asked where he had them made...really, they made them and could not believe how poorly they fit. Then they hacked on them stuck them back in his mouth and sent him on his way. The oral surgeon/periodontist is referring him to another practice to see if the fit can be resolved. Then in my case, insurance is being billed for extra periodontal cleaning that was not discussed , or mentioned to me. Funny thing is every time I went for a cleaning I was told what a great job I was doing with my own at home cleaning & maintenance! This is the second year in a row that I have paid out of pocket, extra for cleaning & exams that should have been covered. This practice's answer was "oh this is extra not covered by your plan". Never discussed with me!!! Upon checking with my insurance rep she stated that improper coding happens a lot and then the claims get denied."
"I've been a patient at Dentists on Pearl for a number of years and couldn't be happier with my care in all regards. This is an extremely well run, professional practice with excellent and engaged professionals at every level. The clinical staff utilizes state of the art technology while maintaining a conservative approach to treatment recommendations. I feel quite fortunate to have them as a resource."
