"I'm not entirely positive this is open anymore. We stopped by mid-morning on a summer weekday and it was a ghost town. It doesn't appear that the grounds are as actively maintained as most other occupied places you see under the NPS umbrella. The NPS website only lists the Elk Creek VC, which does seem newer and shinier than this building. But I would've liked to learn a little more about the history of this area. The campground attached certainly appeared to be occupied."
"Very nice restplace. The old train you can see from the parking lot. It's closed mostly all winter so there are no bathrooms open."
