"Fix the pool heater please. Took my kids to the so called heated pool 10/21/23. There is no reason 3 year olds should be shivering and crying it’s too cold in the shallow end of the pool. Did they die, no, however they sure don’t want to go back. I called the Briergate YMCA and there response was yeah we are aware of Tri-Lakes pool being cold. They reassured me the Briergate pool is kept at 88 degrees. Pretty sad when your sister facilities are clearly aware of this problem from across town, which leads me to believe the Tri lakes management has neglected to address for some time. Would be nice if it was fixed."

"We had swim lessons with the lady with short hair partially shaved. I saw my son struggling with a technique, he kept saying, "its too hard. " instead of offering alternatives, she told him to do it or sit out. I came and asked if there was something else he could do and she said at first that she was showing him other stuff (she was showing him the same stroke with the same tool repeatedly) and then she said that's what she was teaching that day and if he wouldn't try (he had been trying) that she would keep sitting him out. It felt like she was struggling to teach him and it was easier to blame him for it. We all have bad moments, but even when I asked for an alternative and talked to her she wouldn't budge. It doesn't make sense to ask the kids to do something they can't do or get out when they're there to learn. Update- the people at the Y actually called to ask about the situation and said they are going to do some training and offered us another class. I appreciate the effort to make things right and turn it into a learning opportunity for the employee."

"An indoor pool with child structures that doesn't have a waitlist! We went from 4-6 PM, and we didn't even have to ask about a pool capacity. They had 5 lifeguards working and there was plenty of space for my toddler to enjoy himself. Such a change of pace compared to the Cottonwood Creek YMCA - where you have to wait in lines outside an hour before the pool opens for a CHANCE to swim. Definitely will become regulars here."

"This YMCA is fantastic! The staff aren't just friendly, they're engaging in conversation and provide meaningful insight if you ask them questions. I've also noticed that there is a strong sense of community at this YMCA that I haven't seen at any other gym I've been a part of. Staff and members have frequent positive interactions, you can tell they care about this aspect quite a bit. Sure it gets a bit crowded in the afternoons, but personally I'm always impressed by how many high schoolers are out there working out and taking it seriously. They are a part of the community too and I've enjoyed getting to know several of them as well. I wish I'd been as driven as many of them at that age. :) Overall, fantastic YMCA, fantastic staff, and machinery and equipment are serviced regularly and kept in good shape."

"We love the Y and are charter members at Tri Lakes YMCA. With the new upgraded facility and equipment, our Y is a class act! The variety of group exercise classes meet our needs and are diverse enough to cover both cardio and strength with instructors who are quality people, highly trained, and motivating to attendees. Keep up the good work!"
