"Horrible"

"Very long story short DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE"

"I was placed here from Iowa city hospital and clinics because I had bad stage 4 pressure ulcers . I can’t even begin to explain the problems here . I missed a court date because I was hospitalized so I had warrant issued for my arrest . When I arrived at registration I told the woman that runs that facility my situation and that I would need to drive my own car to take care of it eventually because when you register as a resident you have to relinquish your car keys because we can’t have residents just coming and going as they please .so I said ok . Four days into my stay and being 31 years old and 3 kids I need to be able to leave. the woman’s relentlessness to take my freedoms saying “it’s facility policy “ I decided I’d go to another facility. So she then turned me in on the warrant ,kept my car keys from me , was gonna have my car towed, kept my wardrobe of clothing and medical supplies issued bought and paid for by my insurance and had a no contact order issued on me. Leaving me in jail no clothing or medical supplies that I needed and im paraplegic in wheelchair I was sick from osteomyelitis and had deathly wounds . What kind of person does this ? The shower rooms were entirely to gross and their fine dining was maid rites and macaroni with old dishes . So the police take me to Burlington hospital to help me get the iv antibiotics I need 3 x a day and a nurse from grmc calls down to Donnellson health center to get some info and the nurse returns to tell me she had been treated in a demeanor that was very un professional over the phone and I was relieved because someone else had witnessed this woman’s behavior as well . The cream and solution they did send with the officer for my wounds had been almost empty or gone as if they took my gauze, dakons solution, silvasorbe cream, abd pads , and some other supplies prescribed to me .for facility use and when I said I was leaving she said “ok soon as print these papers I’ll give you your keys and property “ well that was a lie ! What she was really doing was calling sheriffs office to have them come arrest me on a failure to appear because I was sick in the hospital. Her name is Cheryl something and the residents there deserve better food , care, respect , hygienic care , just all together better living. I can honestly say 12-31-2018 was worse day I’ve had ever . Writing this now with no supplies no clothes and no vehicle to get to my other iv treatments because on the way out the door she said “ you have an hr to move your vehicle or it’s being towed “ so I had my cousin come get it while I was otw to jail my car it was a whole diff county away from me now . If you put your loved one in this facility your making a big mistake horribly. Towels and bathing rags are old and outdated and so is the bedding and curtains. It’s just outdated building with a nice tv entertainment lobby is all . I hope and wish them residents better days to come . They broke a couple laws that residents have for rights ."

"Donnellson Health Center is in a small farming community, and provides very human hands on care for seniors as well as mentally challenged individuals in a small caring environment that is condusive to one on one care. Not a fancy place, but a very accessible place for families and the people they care for. Staff and activity director do excellent work. A well run community oriented company."
