"Beware! After being referred to this law office for my divorce by an attorney who is friends with an attorney at this office, my experience led to that attorney apologizing to me for the referral. I signed contract with this firm because they told me they have ethical and transparent billing, wouldn’t mind fighting the fight if needed and I had a referral to them. In 4.5 months, this firm spent just shy of $10k. We had 1 court date for the divorce in that time. During which, my attorney made inaccurate statements about me and my case in open court that led me to feel like he didn’t know me or didn’t remember anything we discussed. When I called him out after court about it, he told me it didn’t matter because we “won” the emergency hearing orders. In addition to this, there was a young attorney that started managing my case. He could never answer my questions. I paid to have him tell me he would need to go find the answer and speak to the attorney I did hire, I then paid for him to talk to the attorney I hired, and then I paid a third time for him to follow up with me. Usually, this then led to follow up calls with the attorney I hired. When I confronted my attorney about my frustrations, he told me I wasn’t being charged for the call in which I was frustrated, but wouldn’t touch on the actual issue at hand. I paid 3-4 times for questions that should have been answered the first time. I used this firm for a permanent protection order through TESSA while I was going through my divorce. This process should have been free to me as part of the TESSA program. I specifically loaded TESSA associated evidence into a shared folder for them. Yet, I was told by the attorney that their office staff said I am a bad b**** for standing up to my husband, and without my permission or acknowledgment, they moved the evidence that was in my TESSA case and added it to my divorce documents/court date. I still do not have clarification if I was billed for this cross use, but I would have never authorized the cross use of the information, because it wasn’t divorce related. When I brought up the above concerns to my attorney, and asked for a financial audit, because I believe they were billing me incorrectly, I never got a response. To this day, still no response regarding the request; however, he did tell me instead that I was “spiraling” and “emotional” that I needed to let the attorney do his job because he is good at what he does, after I asked him to please settle with my husband. In fact, I asked both attorneys for 3 weeks to please try and settle with my husband so that I wouldn’t have to spend another $8600+ between now and when final orders were set at the end of May. I was told individually by both that they would try, only to find out at week three that they never even discussed my calls and emails, that I was billed for, with each other, much less anyone else. I was told that settlement would never happen. I was told I needed to hunker down for the long haul, and that my husbands attorney is too lazy to get off of her fat a** speak to my husband. I was told to provide temporary order information to them instead of trying to settle, and when I did, I was mocked by them stating that I should waive temporary orders altogether because it will “cost money” to go to court for the items I wanted to discuss if settlement wasn’t an option. I fired them the day they mocked me. They acknowledged the end of the arrangement, and yet I was billed through the next court date (where both of them showed up to court). That I was again, billed for two on. As of February 21st, just a few weeks later, I was officially divorced without this firm. My husband settled for every term I asked for and offered. His attorney never sat on her a**, and instead made sure things went smooth. The way this firm treated me is appalling. Their billing and communication is unethical. I was not heard or listened to, and what I wanted (which was to settle) didn’t matter. I was spoken down to every time I brought up my frustrations and concerns."
"Mike Allen and team are the real deal. Extremely knowledgeable, professional and motivated to work hard to get you the fairest outcome. I would and do highly recommend these people. To boot, they are just great people overall, compassionate to your needs."
"Ryan became a good and trusted friend. I was going through a lot of anguish at the time and initially wasn’t appreciative of his help. But after reflecting I realized that I experienced a win and was so grateful to him and the firm. He has a client for life regarding my case."
"Where to begin! After a very long journey that began with what seemed like an arduous task, we were finally able to locate and recover my boyfriend's son after being taken out of the state illegally for the better part of a year. We started the case off with another attorney that worked at this firm and were currently in the process of attempting to find a second opinion since we did not agree with a lot of what was done up to that point. However, someone was obviously looking out for us since we received the news that this attorney was no longer with the firm and we were able to either choose to stay with Chelsea and Mike, or we could cut ties and find a new attorney. Thankfully, we chose to stay, and we have not regretted that decision since. Chelsea has proven to be a fantastic lawyer who had no issues becoming quickly acquainted with the already challenging and emotionally charged case put at her feet and coming up with a game plan to help get his son back home as quickly as possible... as well as keep him there afterward. The former attorney I mentioned had a habit of making us feel as though we were bothersome whenever we would ask questions to clarify something, though it was obvious that he either wasn't very knowledgeable or well-versed in this complicated of a case (to which the judge refers to the situation as "not unprecedented [but definitely] a very rare occurrence") or because he was just overloaded and too busy to really be invested in any one case, let alone multiples? I can speculate all day, but in the end, the main point is that it always made us feel uneasy and in the dark... but Chelsea never once made us feel as though we were just another case to her. Quite the opposite -- it was obvious that she was invested in the case, which was part of the reason that we never once doubted her decisions for court. And if results matter just as much to anyone reading these reviews, she was able to dominate the court room and we received (almost) what he wanted with a step-up parenting plan with a few months of supervised visits, and then 19k in attorneys fees awarded shortly after. I don't want to forget to mention the rest of the team that works closely with the attorneys... Tabitha was absolutely phenomenal for communicating with and making sure that correspondences, dates, invoices, etc were kept up with. She and the other girls in the office are all superstars! If your case is complicated with a lot of moving parts, this would be the firm you want. Thank you all so much!!!"
