Cliff House Dining Room

"We stayed at the Cliff House for a few days for a nice little vacation and to enjoy Manitou Springs and the Cliff House. It's a beautiful historic hotel with super friendly staff. The hotel dining room was a great experience, with great food and great atmosphere. There was a gentleman playing classical guitar in the dining room, which added to the holiday ambience. My fiance and I loved every minute of it. Our new holiday tradition will be to stay at the Cliff House and enjoy the fine dining experience offered there!"

"I was excited about the experience. Sadly, it was not what I had expected. The food was okay, we had crab cake with a good cole slaw, I had the rib eye, actually they ran out of rib eye and gave me filet mignon, with a non spicy salsa Macha, which I really enjoyed. Their Ceasar salad was not good at all, and I don't recommend it."

"We went for a night at The Cliff House for our anniversary- both of us were very disappointed and it started in the dining room. Our meal was $181 before tip, I ordered the filet medium. It came out blue after waiting an hour and 10 minutes for it. Sent it back- my husband ordered shrimp with his steak, but those didn't arrive until he was finished with his meal- then my steak came out. My steak was much better but both of us left the vegetables that came with our meals uneaten as they were not thoroughly cooked. He did say the shrimp was okay once they arrived but nothing special. The sweet potato gnocchi was delicious and we appreciate having the courses spaced but 2 hours for supper was a bit too much spacing. The staff offered to cover dessert and a cocktail if we wanted, so we decided to accept. When the bill came they had covered one dessert and gave us 1 cocktail to share. The cocktail and dessert, however, were both delicious. Since this is only on the dining room, I'll keep the disappointment in our stay for another review. I'm not sure how they keep the 4-diamond rating based on the experience we had. It was unfortunate."

"Enjoyed a fabulous anniversary dinner on Labor Day. I can't say enough about the staff. They all were extremely attentive without hovering as well as pleasant. The food was out of this world. I had the duck which included half a dozen breast pieces as well as a leg. It was served with bacon brussels sprouts and cheesy grits which were more like mashed potatoes than traditional southern grits. My wife had the filet perfectly prepared and served with potatoes and asparagus. For dessert, the creme brule is not to be missed. A superb meal, exquisitely prepared served by a beautifully trained staff. It was an experience we'll long remember."

"We really enjoyed our experience in here. The Queen Anne style of both the exterior and interior is absolutely gorgeous. The hostess was so welcoming and friendly. Our server was very charismatic and attentive to our needs. He was sociable with us and made us feel at home. We had the poutine, cliff house burger, and the appetizer was a sweet potato gnocchi with a wild mushroom ragout. The flavors were all perfectly paired and all the food was prepared so well."
