Reviews of Goodwill Store & Donation Center
"I keep reading reviews about the prices being too high and I keep reading the same kind of responses back from Goodwill. While I appreciate the mission of providing affordable items to lower-income individuals, I'm disappointed by the consistently high prices on many of the items, whether new or used. I see Goodwill respond with no action or accountability, but say, "Well last year alone we saved customers X amount of money." And, "Items that are brand new and still have price tags on them are still priced well under the original sales price." Well Goodwill that's awesome that you saved X amount of money for customers......you're supposed to. So don't throw that in a customers face and soo what if an item is brand new with all tags still attached. That doesn't mean you should price a brand new Carhartt jacket or boots for $75. That's insane. Not that $75 is insane for those items because we all know if we go to Big R and buy either one we're gonna pay well over that but it's insane for you as Goodwill. Customers should be able to go to Goodwill and find those types of items, either new or gently used and pay well under $75. The essence of a thrift store is to offer budget-friendly options, catering to those with limited financial resources. Despite being brand new or used your items are priced significantly higher than what one might expect from a store targeting lower-income customers. It seems counterintuitive to the store's purpose when a shirt or household item, regardless of its original price tag, is marked up considerably. I believe it's crucial for Goodwill to maintain its commitment to affordability, ensuring that the store remains accessible to its intended demographic. Pricing items too close to or even surpassing their original retail value undermines the essence of what Goodwill stands for. I encourage the management to reevaluate pricing strategies to better align with the store's mission and better serve the community it aims to assist."
"I’m not sure oh who is in charge of pricing but they need a reality check for sure. I don’t understand, they get all of this stuff for free and they have ridiculous prices. 8 bucks for a very used condition sweater from King soopers? Yet, I’m sure the employees don’t make more than minimum wage. My family won’t be back, sadly."
"The prices are very expensive for 2nd hand. $15 for pants- shirts are 8.99 and up! I will be searching out my local thrift stores from this point on. I will also advocate not to donate at Goodwill anymore. Your company is supposed to CARE about the less fortunate pocketbook. This company does not!"
"I was just here on Saturday. This used to be one of my favorite Goodwill store until I noticed a drastic change in the prices. One medium metal star was 7.99 ....the same price on the original price tag. T shirts were 5 bucks each!? 9.99 for a plate. The shoes were expensive too at round 10 bucks also. And forget about trying to find a 50 % off yellow tag (or whatever color it was) sale item because it didn't exist. Now they shut the dressing rooms?! This place went downhill. Whoever is in charge of the pricing is out of their mind. Sad."
"I went to this goodwill with a couple of friends yesterday, and I overall had a good experience. The store itself is clean, although everything is scattered around, as you'd expect with a standard goodwill. I saw a lot of items were in good condition, but some things were overpriced. Overall, it's a decent experience, just like any goodwill."
