Reviews of John Derry Park
"Nice park, the soccer field could really use some water."
"In the past I have given this park 5 stars because it is beautiful, has a calming pond with wildlife, great trails, plenty of picnic areas, grills, sports opportunities everywhere, and a great atmosphere. More and more owners though are letting their dogs off leash and making it very dangerous for other dog owners to have their dogs there. It's a beautiful park, and so much fun to go to. But just a few people can ruin it for everyone. The only other downside is winter… in winter I give this park a 2, maybe 3 star rating. The reason: they don’t take care of the sidewalks or the parking areas. If you want to walk, run, or bike… you can’t do it until the snow melts. All in all, if the management enforced the leash rule and did some plowing in the winter, it would go back up to 5 stars in a hurry."
"It's a very nice park to walk around and it's great to see the baseball fields and volleyball courts in use. The athletic club doesn't do much to pick up their litter from the lawn or pond, unfortunately. Also a lot of litter ends up in the pond from people using the shelter for gatherings. Lots of off-leash dog running despite the signage. All that said, I really this park a few times per week and it's a pleasant way to relax. Sunsets here are fantastic."
"Great park! Beautiful scenery. Plenty of grills for use and benches as well. Great area to have a birthday party or picnic."
"Nice park with picnic tables under some nice shelters. BBQ grills available, nice bathrooms too. Seems to be very popular with office staff in the area for exercise during lunch hours. Great for walking and getting some extra steps in your day. The pond is really nice to be able to walk around."
