Reviews of Service Street Auto Repair
"I’ll start with, great place to work. Here the employees are always right. Only suggest going if you have pen and paper to document everything from your end. They’re really trying to tell me the timeline of my life. PSA: Preventative Maintenance that they claim only applies to what they believe is Preventative, they’ll throw it in your face that’s it’s free. If you explicitly need a diagnostics on your car and did not pay for one, you just got the Brandon special! Their warranty sounds good but it’s what gives them the opportunity to really dupe you. My suggestion, take it to your cars dealership first to get a diagnostics. Then go from there. This place may work for you but just work with em in caution. Don’t know what the managers name but he’s not forgotten in this. Edit: I took my car here because my shocks and absorbers were beyond needing to be replaced. I opened my car up for them to take full advantage and get everything that needed to be address on the car, addressed. After spending near $4k, I went back a couple weeks later after my check engine light came on. My breaks were also still squeaky even though they’ve supposedly been replaced and flushed. They wanted to charge $200 per hour for a diagnostics, that can take any where from 1 hour to 5. Now why would this be needed if I asked for everything to be checked and worked on at the end of January? They said they couldn’t see codes before if the lights not. Lied detector determined, that was a lie. In January they said they checked all my power; battery, alternators, starter - not the spark plugs because they still had $10000 miles on them apparently. Now my car is still having power issues but they don’t see an issue. They think they already did me a big favor from the last time. The disconnect in our conversation is the understanding that I literally asked for all of the work to be done on my car… everything that was worked on I asked specifically. I asked to run a diagnostics and make sure nothing else was okay, was told everything was fine from what they could tell. Save yourself the struggle, get quotes and start off with your dealership. Spend your money how you want to but this service street specifically is a scam."
"Chris and D were completely charming, fast, kind and ended up fixing a small issue on my escape for free. Highly recommend! Honesty and kindness are rare in this world and this shop has it!"
"Went in for an oil change and received prompt friendly service. Was also encouraged to get a coolant pressure test which revealed a crack in the radiator and leak in the cap resulting in an estimate of 2300$ to fix. I took my 2020 vehicle to Nissan where they confirmed there was no leak and topped off the coolant for me for free. I saved $2300 and lost a full day of work as well as gained a whole lot of stress from my experience at Service Street."
"Actively trying to scam me. 3 other shops have said my shocks are bad. But I have a warranty with service street for the shocks and they’re refusing to fix it saying that all the other shops are wrong. Then tried to tell me my engine/transmission need serious works. Again, I’ve been to three other shops for full inspections within the last 30 days to get a consensus on the issue with my shocks (5 times if you count service street because I’ve been twice) and the only issue with my engine across the board was that I needed an oil change. Service street also did an inspection literally a month ago and found no engine or transmission issues. Then a stupid comment was made about how they feel shuddering when they shift from first to second. My car is an automatic. What exactly are they shifting? One of the other mechanics I went to wrote a quote and TOOK PICTURES of what was wrong with my shocks so I could take it to service street. They still denied anything was wrong and then started trying to get me to buy new tires from them (for significantly more than it costs to buy the same tires and get them changed at discount tire or Firestone) and get my non existent engine problems fixed. This is a huge issue with this shop. When I went two years ago to get my shocks fixed, and the very end they told me my tie rods were broken and needed to be replaced immediately. Decided to hold off after googling a bit and went to 2 other nearby mechanics for second opinions. Both said there was no issue. Ended up going to Firestone for an alignment and they did it with no issue. Asked them about tie rods too since service street cited the broke tie rods as the reason they couldn’t complete my alignment and Firestone told me that there was no issue. TL;DR: only come here if you actively want to get scammed. The things they’ll tell you are wrong with your car are different from month to month."
"I had a fantastic experience at Service Street, thanks to Chris and his outstanding team of mechanics. They are not only prompt but also incredibly honest. From the beginning, everyone was up front and clear what to expect. I knew what my bill was going to be, and they didn't try to upsell unnecessary services, which I greatly appreciated. Their attention to detail and dedication to quality work is truly commendable. I left with everything in order and a clear understanding of what was serviced, worked on, and what to expect. I highly recommend Service Street, thanks to Chris and his wonderful team. They've earned my trust, and I'll definitely be returning for any future car needs. A five-star experience all around!"
