"Absolutely terrible! We had the worst experience with Canvas Credit Union the last 9 days for a simple auto loan! We went to the branch and asked what they needed from us and then submitted the application online. When we were in the branch it was incredibly awkward so we didn't want to go through with standing there giving out our info, their branch is under construction and they don't have an area to discuss anything in private. Everytime they needed anything from us we wouldn't get a call back, we would have to constantly call in and ask what was going on. They would tell us they would finalize and call us back in an hour or in 15 mins and NEVER CALLED US! We would call, our seller of the vehicle we were trying to buy from would call just to get a simple update was like pulling teeth. After finally getting thing finalized we went back to the branch for closing and they didn't even set up the loan correctly so we ended up walking out and won't go back. Canvas nearly wasted 2 weeks of our time and our sellers time."
"On July 10th, 2023 an unauthorized use of our debit card occurred for what appears to be a video game purchase. Since then there have been over 70 unauthorized purchases made over a fifteen day period on our debit card. All payments went to #Google*candviore 1600 amphitheater parkw Mountain View CA. The Canvas representative disabled the card and stated that we would need to make a Report to Google and that we would need confirmation from Google that we made the report. When asked how I would go about making a report to Google the Cavas representative provided me a phone number for Google. My last question was if someone would be following up with me on when their investigation was complete and when our account would be reimbursed, the Canvas representative stated that yes, I would be receiving updates on the situation. I tried calling the phone number that the Canvas representative provided, the number was not valid. I then tried Google chat line, I kept getting forwarded to tech support. I then looked up Googles Corporate number and was on hold for 90 minutes before I gave up. Next step was sending an e-mail to their Corporate Offie, I did receive a generic response after a couple of days recommending I review the security settings on our account, which I did. I stopped by the Canvas Office to make a deposit on 07/31 and asked if their was an update on the theft of our money, the Canvas representative made a phone call, stated she was talking to their Denver Office. Once she completed her phone call the Canvas representative told me that I would be responsible for investigating the theft from our Canvas account and that there was nothing Canvas would do to assist. I was somewhat surprised at her statement. I asked if there was any record of me reporting the fraud on 7/25, she stated no. I am at a loss, I was under the impression that our money was safe with Canvas, apparently I was wrong. We have been Customers of the credit union for over thirty years, going to be talking to my wife about changing to a Bank that will protect our money and take action when fraudulent activity takes place. If anyone from Canvas reads this. I would love o receive detailed information on what steps are required to perform an investigation of this type given I am not a financial fraud investigator. I want to be reimbursed for the funds that were fraudulently removed from our Canvas account."
"I have at least 3 or 4 times at different times ran into problems with customer service or there practices as a financial institution. right now I am having trouble getting the checks that I was promised when they switched to canvas from rocky mountain, I was told that they would furnish new checks after dec. 31 to me at no charge. when I went in yesterday to get that done. they told me that they would not get me the same style of checks I have but, some other off beet type they wanted to furnish. On top of that they said they would only replace a box of checks, not all the checks I had on hand, I buy my checks in bulk because they are cheaper by the check that way. When I had this discussion with there representatives, at the time of conversion there was no limit mentioned to me. I feel that it is not my fault. that they have bought out or ?? and they should stand good and hold me harmless for my inconvenience due to conditions and causes out of my control. A word of caution . If you have bought insurance from or through this organization you are being ripped off. I bought a life insurance when I first started using this bank. I find out that it is a diminishing policy. so if 10 years ago I bought a 100,000 dollar policy, then as I age the policy diminishes in pay out so now my policy is only worth 50,000 dollars. so by the time I pass. I will have paid in a substantial amount of money and, they will pay out nothing. or very little. so from the sure definition, of insurance it is a scam. I guess they think that if your dead you will not know that you have been screwed, and your family will get nothing and wont be the wiser, One last thing doing business with these people is like doing business with the mafia. they think that they do not have any rules to follow, when it comes to customers. one last thing I invested some money into a product that this bank had recommended to me. It turns out that what I was told and what actually happened was two different things completely. so be very carfull about investing with this group."
"I have been banking at western rockies for years I have had multiple accounts and loans with them. And use to realy like them. But in the last couple years they have realy went down hill. They recently put one of my checks in the wrong account witch made several checks bounce. They have been charging me an extra 70 dollars a month on a car for insurance I already had. And I had a problem with my debit card in March that they have been suppose to work on for the last 7 months and they were never realy doing anything. They just told me it's been to long so I have to just lose1200 dollars. Booo to western rockies I will be closing all my accounts with them"
"After 7 years banking with them, my husband and are so disappointed in the last couple of years of service. They will charge you $30 overdraft even if your just $1 over. Instead of calling me and giving me a chance to deposit the $1. Also, there ATM is so extremely outdated and I hated depositing money into the atm because they would put it in wrong and it would cause more issues with our account. We finally switched banks and are so happy with the bank we are at now. We never have any issues and they are so great about letting us get any overdrawn issues taken care of with in a timely matter. Hope you all can work out your kinks out soon. Used to be a great bank! Sad to think our local credit union has gone down hill."
