"The following reflects my opinions based on direct experience with this business over the last 14 months. This is the kind of business that gives auto shops a bad name. They blame the customer, the car, their subcontractors, but refuse to accept responsibility themselves. My project started in October of 2022. Originally it was limited to some mechanical work, but quickly expanded or into a large project including compete engine rebuild. This is the nature of classic car restoration and I get that. It’s not my first time. After 6 months of mechanical and engine work, I took it back for 6 weeks for some body work. I returned it to them with an agreement that all work, including paint, would be complete by early June at an agreed upon price. Paint didn't start until end of June after doing some body work. Not happy, but acceptable. For the next 2 months, virtually no work was done. Phone calls and emails went unanswered. After showing up unannounced and seeing the car in the corner collecting dust with an incomplete paint job, they eventually fired my project manager. Their shop manager, Ben stepped in. After he reviewed the project status and remaining work, and after speaking with the owner, they wrote on Aug 16, “I believe XXXXX discussed a $5k - $6k final bill and I agree that we will get it wrapped up in that range. Please let me know if you have any questions or simply reply to this email with "Approved" and we'll get it done.” They also wrote, “Setting a hard deadline is always difficult for a multitude of reasons but we estimate your build will be completed the first week of September.” The difficulty in setting deadlines is understandable, to a certain extent. It is now Dec 1 and they invoiced me triple our agreed-on price, nearly $17k. I did approve a $300 expense for a temp gauge and console mounting brackets, but did not approve any other overages, nor did they provide any revised estimates or heads up that they wouldn't stand behind our agreement. They just billed me more. After pushing back, they threatened to place a lien on my car, so I paid an additional $2,300 over our agreement. They now refuse to complete the work, are again threatening a lien, refuse to release the car and will start charging me storage fees unless I pay triple our agreement. Their defense? An email from 11/2 with a highlighted passage from their manager, “I will be happy to put full resources towards completing your project if you agree to pay accordingly for said work.” That is not a new estimate or agreement. They also use the tired old line, “we are a time and materials shop” as justification for not honoring an agreement. A few observations: They have a dozen+ vehicles in their garage, but I have never seen more than 2-3 people working at a time. Ever. They don’t have the resources to do the work. They went through a half dozen painters in the 5 months it took to paint my car. My suspicion is they treat their subs with as much contempt as they do their customers. They don't inventory parts customers drop off. They lost a new battery and tried charging me for a new one. They lost the original rear glass for the hard top. They frequently ask about parts already in their possession. No excuse. I recognize that good help is hard to find. I’ve been extraordinarily patient, but an honest business should be transparent with their customers and offer realistic timelines and stand behind their estimates. Read the BBB and other reviews. There is an astonishing pattern of dishonesty, incompetence, and unprofessionalism. Their ideal customer seems to be one with an unlimited budget, unlimited time and who doesn't pay attention. If that’s you, then you won’t have any problems. This project is for my son. After dozens of missed deadlines, excuses, and extortion, he’ll be without a car for most of high school now. Thanks, Fasano’s. PS: Here is how the shop manager ended his misguided reply to my BBB complaint, “You have no business owning a classic vehicle.” I look forward to Ben's ongoing insults and excuses."
"After spending time researching shops in the area, I decided to take my vehicle to Fasano’s for some issues I was having. I couldn’t have made a better decision. They were extremely knowledgeable and most importantly transparent with everything. Thanks again for your wonderful service!"
"I have had my truck in three different shops for running and electrical issues that no one was able to figure out until I brought it to Fasano’s. They were professional, fast, efficient and fair in price. I would highly recommend Fasano’s to anyone needing work on their classic vehicle."
"I have alwasy trusted Fasanos with cars. The staff is very knowledgable, trustworthy, and hardworking. The management staff really surprised me with how amazing they are. They do a fantastic job of turning projects around, communicating, and working with customers and their builds. Sean and the team truly take care of all the shop cars like they are their own. The attention to detail that the shop posses is unmatched. For the work they are producing, and the price they charge, I will always trust Fasanos to work on my car."
"Best restoration car place out there! I appreciate their professionalism, solving complicated details of the vehicle and overall great customer service. As I read the other reviews on here, the people on here leaving bad reviews are employees who have been fired due to making bad choices. Fasano’s Vintage motors has done a great job dealing with the adversity of previous employees choices and coming out on top with having a solid team with restoring the car of your dream! So please try not to judge based on these reviews just terrible how people can be!"
