"Took in my 4Runner, equipped with aftermarket skid plates, to get an oil change back in December. Discovered last week that the guys at this shop rounded out the bolt on my oil filter access plate on my skids. Took it back to this shop this past weekend, guys there owned up to their mistake & gave me a free oil change for the trouble — it also took them an hour JUST to get the bolt off, and they had to drop the entire skid plate to get at it from the other end! If they’d told me back in December that the bolts were rounded out and to replace them instead of screwing a faulty part back in, & then making me go through the trouble of discovering this issue two months later, that would’ve been so much better. I’m grateful for the fact that they owned up to the mistake of an employee who (supposedly) no longer works there, but I will likely not return here to have my vehicle serviced. I’m sorry for the sucker who had to undo his former coworkers mistake, because it was seriously incredibly stupid. But hey, free oil change."
