"Mom received excellent care at the Ambassador. Staff helped her with everything they could to make her life better. They were never too busy (or cranky) to help with her phone, TV, finding things, or fixing her a special meal. One nurse brought her bologna sandwiches, a favorite treat! The activities staff made sure she had crafts that didn't use glue, because she had trouble with glue due to limited vision. The nursing home was always clean and fresh-smelling. Mom's only complaint was the food, but they were always willing to fix her something different if she didn't like what was served. Her favorite activity was the entertainment by Elvis, who is scheduled there on an ongoing basis."
"I wouldn't put my worst enemy here. The Director Of Nursing position is given away at random every few months, along with the Administrator position. There is absolutely no stability for the residents whom reside here. I initially called and spoke with the current administrator about a place for a family member. She thought she had put me on hold, but had not, and I heard all of her rude comments and laughter regarding questions that I had. I don't know why, but I still went in for a tour. The administrator immediately came off as stuck up, and had a superiority complex when interacting with the CNA's. The building is old and it appears to have little to no housekeepers. I am a family friend of a current resident, and I want so badly to free her from this dump. The turn over for CNA's is astonishing. The good employees quit because they are treated poorly by management, and the not so good CNA's remain due to friendships with the management. This review is not an overall evaluation of The Ambassador in general, but certainly their Sidney, IA location."
"They go over and beyond the call of duty!"
