"Tried to set up appointment via email and received a very curt response from office manager. Not impressed."
"I saw Hannah Mirmiran (the owner of Omaha Psychotherapy) when she worked as a therapist prior to her licenses being revoked. This was my experience: I started seeing Hannah fresh out of college to address severe anxiety that I’d never been in therapy for. The first few weeks were very successful and I learned lots of new coping skills. Hannah was very helpful and encouraging and I trusted her fully. I continued to see her and because it was my first time in therapy and had started so well, I unfortunately, at the time, was not aware of the red flags that began popping up. Constant last minute canceling of appointments, poor boundaries, and judgmental comments all compounded to exacerbate my anxiety while also adding guilt and confusion. I have since worked through the effects of her unprofessional behavior with a new provider and accepted that it was not my fault. I’m so glad I was able to walk away from her. I have spoken to several other therapists who have confirmed that Hannah’s behavior was out of line, blurred boundaries, was unprofessional and at times unethical. I’ve also since learned that she’s spoken publicly about her alcoholism and divorce. What she doesn’t mention in the podcasts, articles, or on her website is that the reason she now practices as a life coach is because her therapy licenses were revoked. I absolutely don’t blame her for her own struggles and being human, but I sincerely hope that she has done the necessary work to become a better more ethical provider so that no other clients go through what I did."
