"We replace 2-3 trucks a year and everyone goes to Line X of Cedar Rapids before going into service. Even though its an hour away. We throw heavy steel in the back of these trucks daily and I have not found a better coating. Quick service, superior product. Only thing we use."
"Buyer beware on this place. Purchased chrome step bars. The price for the bars was competitive, but would not quote installation (they charge by the hour for that). Now I know why. Ended up getting gouged on the installation price due to their inability to get the old ones off quickly. OK, I get that....they were hard to get off. When I got home, I noticed a blemish in the finish of one of the bars. Took it back the next morning and asked for a replacement. The owner (an older gentleman with grey hair) called his source, who said they should have been inspected before installation, so they would not swap for a new one. The blemish (a slight dent/scuff mark) likely happened during installation. Line-X owner denied any responsibility and would not stand behind what he sold me. He just shrugged his shoulders blamed the distributor. Later at home, I noticed the bars were not aligned at all (not level, and not parallel with the truck). I ended up needing to loosen them and realign them myself. Didn’t want this place touching my truck again. Won’t be going back there."
"Last week I booked an appointment to get a Line-X bedliner in my new truck. A good bedliner is important to me, as I take exceptional care of my vehicles. I felt it was a good investment for my new truck. I dropped my vehicle off on a Thursday and by Friday afternoon my truck was ready to be picked up. I had attached a tonneau cover to the bed of my truck but removed it prior to dropping of my truck. Friday afternoon, I arrived to pick up my truck. I was very disappointed to find that my truck tailgate would no longer shut gently as it always had. I had to give it a good, hard slam to get it to latch. Being a brand-new truck, it shut very gently before I brought it here. I brought it to their attention only to hear “eh, it will be fine, it’s a slam latch, so it’s supposed to slam.” I reminded him that it’s not just supposed to be slammed shut, and never before did I have to slam it shut to get it to stay where it was supposed to. I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the service and the response I got was “I only get about one complaint about that every three years…so…it will be fine.” Again, my satisfaction was clearly not a priority. I then spoke to the employee that did the Line-X application. He informed me that he didn’t apply the spray like to the top of the bed of the truck since I had the weather strip for the tonneau cover – he just “assumed” that I didn’t want anything applied there because I would have to reapply new weather strip. Had I known this was an issue I would have mentioned it, and, instead of calling me to ask, he just assumed and shrugged it off. He finally offered to fix my tailgate where the product was causing the tailgate issues. He was reluctant and said I would have to leave my truck there and he’d fix it Monday. However, like most folks, I work during the week and run my errands on the weekend. I had already been two days without my vehicle. Instead, I opted to take my vehicle home and used a small Dremel tool and removed a small amount of product. Now, my tailgate shuts very smoothly and gently, just like it always had before. I’m very disappointed in the customer service here and the poor attitude towards customer concerns. It’s disappointing that I spent $550+ and when there was an issue, I had to fix it myself."
"Aftert 15 years, the tensioner on my Truxedo cover broke so I stopped in. The owner gave me the replacement piece off a floor model to replace mine for free. Very nice."
"I have bought many things over the years from this place. I received a quote for a new ARE topper from this place and Iowa City Line X. After finding Iowa City was $200 cheaper I went and asked what they could do for the price so I could keep my business local. The old gray haired guy replied- " Have a nice trip.""
