Reviews
"I always enjoy the art and have a Great time at the receptions. Everyone including the volunteers are very nice and welcoming."
"This is a spectacular gallery in downtown Des Moines. It’s 100% run by volunteers, including hanging work, greeting guests, and organizing events. And it punched above its weight. I would say any reviews that are one star are overly-critical based on singular experiences. This is a can’t-miss hidden gem all year around."
"They were not open when both their website and their sign said they should be open. A piece of paper taped to the window, which was nothing more than a printout off of the web, listed a phone number to call for more information. When I called that number I was led into a maze of options, and when I finally reached someone at the other end, that person (someone in the county offices) admitted they knew nothing at all about the Heritage Gallery's operations or who to contact about the problem."
"Waited from 11 when they were supposed to be open we waited until 12:30 I'm handicapped an we use joyride And I only had until 1pm and no one came to open it. We scheduled this outing a week ago we wanted to see the stone wall exzibit on the last day before it was gone . I'm very annoyed don't even want to try to come back"
"The Gallery itself is a beautiful space, however the staff couldn't seem less interested and have no desire to engage the public in the work. Mention you might want to buy something and they will light up..mention that you have submitted requests and they just might hang up on you. Much better Galleries in Valley Junction and in Ames."
