"This is one of the oldest building in Nebraska. Everyone needs to take the tour of old Town Bellevue at the Sarpy county museum. It gets very interesting there's a great lady named Faith that gives great information about the buildings and its history."
"It's so unusual for a cabin this old to still exist, and for it to have been lived in until 1954! It is well maintained and a gem of Bellevue. I caught a pic in one of the back kitchen windows. It does not seem to have open hours at this time, but is worth stopping by if you love history and old buildings!"
"An historical feature from the establishment of the city of Bellevue. One must make an appointment for a tour but the cabin is small enough to enjoy from the outside."
"I lived next door until 1972. I remember when the basement was dug. And the sill logs were made from cottonwood logs. Squared by hand with an ax. In the back corner are two tomestones dating from 1863, they are located on the other side of the fence."
"Read the historical marker for the first time. Very informative. Nice job with the flower beds. The trees are beautiful but i was unsure as to which one is the hackberry. Would be nice if it was marked because of its significance. Looking forward to a tour inside. Studied the corner interlocking joints of the cabin. Very interesting. Good job Sarpy County Historical society!"
