"Dishwashers have no ventilation, the very cheapest models. You are responsible for replacing hvac filters. Snow removal is abysmal. They plow the main driveways but not the parking spaces. They don’t shovel the handicap access or keep it clear in general. Main access doors are power locks. When power goes out, you are locked out. There is no physical key to let yourself back in. Floor plan is meh. Almost no naturally lighting. the cabinet space is smaller than it I looks. The staff rarely clean the common areas. They are generally uninvolved. They don’t repair from previous tenants. Getting your deposit back is relatively easy but they like to take little bits here and there. Avoid if possible"

"If you have an opportunity to live somewhere else. By all means, make it happen. Never have I ever seen a more disorganized, poorly managed apartment complex in my life. There is no communication, they have no maintenance staff whatsoever, the inclement weather management is worthless. This place has a wonderful curb appeal, but the issues show through very very quickly. Brielle the property manager runs the Microtel down the road and would rather run her dirty hotel than manage the apartments. Do not live here."

"Trust me, save your money and rent anywhere else. Brielle has to be worse apartment manager on the phase of the earth. They make bogus claims to withhold security deposit. If you want to lose security deposit Or break your foot or spine or lose you life on icy or non- plowed parking lots, then live here at your own risk."

"Sidewalks are a hazard during the winter. Handicap access to the sidewalk is blocked by parking."

"WORST place to rent from. If I could rate this place lower than a 1 I would. These people are crooks and they don’t care about their tenants whatsoever. According to Iowa law, the landlord has 30 days to return your deposit to you with an explanation for any deductions. If they don’t return the deposit they must refund you entire deposit. I continued to reach out for status update and I received my deposit a week past the 30 day allowed time and didn’t receive a full refund. I hope corporate does something about the people who run this place to prevent the same thing happening to others or even a law suit. NEVER EVER RENT FROM SHADOW RIDGE."
