"DO NOT rent from here!! The property manager has always been rude to me. Every time I would talk to her on the phone she would interrupt and try to talk over top of me. I was not even a resident for a full year, and had MULTIPLE issues!! The biggest one being that the place is absolutely INFESTED with cockroaches!! I couldn’t take my couch with me to my new place it was so bad, I had to throw it out. In the less than a year I lived there it took them a month to fix my shower and when they finally got that done my bathroom ceiling started leaking and that took 2 weeks! They had to rip out my entire bathroom ceiling and even when it was done the maintenance didn’t clean up after himself. Please save yourself the time money and stress, rent from somewhere else !!!"

"I lived here for my first year in Coralville. The price is great, location is great, and the staff is wonderful. The buildings are a little older and outdated, but if I had ANY issue, it was handled immediately. They are very willing to work with any issues you have and are understanding. Overall, great place!"

"I'm responding to the only review that someone previously wrote. I believe everything that person said, but I am happy to report that nothing like that will happen now. There is a different manager, a wonderful manager who was here some years ago, went to a different location for a while, and now has returned to Valley Forge Apartments. There have been 5 different managers since I moved here in the 1980s, and the one here now makes this a more pleasant and much happier place to live. There is an excellent maintenance staff, too, and although these buildings are older than many others in Iowa City and Coralville, they are maintained very well. If anything needs attention or repair, it's promptly taken care of. Pets are allowed as long as some guidelines are followed, and that's one reason many residents like living here. City buses make frequent stops on both sides of the buildings (8th St. and 9th St,) and provide convenient transportation for residents who don't want to drive. Because the apartments don't have some features such as dishwashers and central air conditioning (there are wall units), I won't give them a 5-star rating, but there are other advantages, such as an outdoor swimming pool, picnic tables & charcoal grills for cook-outs, a nearby Hy-Vee grocery store, and Coral Ridge Mall not far away. The Coralville Rec Center & tennis courts, and S.T. Morrison Park are only a few blocks from here. The location is great!"

"Be careful when looking to rent from this company. The associate we met with when going over our rental application told us that there would be absolutely no need for a cosigner for either of us, and that all that was needed was a "Guaranteur" that she assured us *multiple times* had NO financial or legal obligation. This was important to me because I do not have anyone to co-sign for me, so I was sure to double and triple check. She also told us that the monetary requirements to be approved to live there were dependent on the combined income of all residents. She was asked about these things multiple times and gave us those same answers every time. Not only were neither of those things true, but when we calmly and kindly confronted the manager of Valley Forge apartments about it, she was rude and accused us both of lying, stating that "that's what [her associate] does day in and day out, she knows what she's doing", and that "there's no way that's true. I mean I'll talk to her, but you obviously heard her wrong". Clearly she is either absolutely clueless, or lying in order to get the $70 application fee ($35 per person) out of applicants. I'm leaning toward the latter. The manager also lied through her teeth about a couple of "laws" that weren't even relevant, so I'm assuming she thought we were clueless and was trying to take advantage of us. As a first-time renter this was an absolutely awful start to my apartment hunt, and my friend who has over 4 years of rental history agrees. 0/10, would not recommend."
