Reviews of Oxbow Park Apartments
"Going around putting towing stickers on people's vehicles when they have paper tags from the state while they ship new plates out is ridiculous this apartment complex Has absolute horrible maintenance and management. The dog bins over flow the request get complete with no work done its unfortunate for the others that have to live in these apartments"
"Probably the worst experience we've ever had with an apartment. We have friends and family that are shocked at the state of the building including the broken locks the stains on the stairs the dumpsters with trash over flowing. The horrible maintenance of the building broken Ac awful water ( you need to get a filter ) the stopper in our bathroom sinks rusted out our first week in and it was never fixed both bathrooms. Peeling paint drywall screws backing out, water damage to the cheap cabinets, water coming out of the dishwasher due to improper instal, awful aie quality needed an air purifier,a microwave that blows the fuse when used. Overflowing dog waste bins. It's gotten worse and worse so we are happy to be leaving but they make that a pain. Never sending the proper paperwork to leave so requiring you to stay an extra month then attempting to reject it a second time. Because they decided not to open the office an hour after the stated opening time. In winter they had horrible snow removal I'd let it go for about a day or two before I came outside myself and shoveled our stairs throughout majority of the winter I've seen people fall in the ice covered parking lot and myself have fallen with that and prooly taped plow schedules you'd never know when to expect the parking lot to be usable. No Emergency lights on the floor for power outage. It's been about the 4th one in our building and the lights have never gotten fixed"
"Never thought I’d say this but I miss the old management. Since Elevate Living has taken over the quality of living here has dropped significantly. Whether it be ignored maitenance requests that are closed without having done anything, the office signing for your mail and holding it without reaching out (even ignored my emails asking if they had my contact info updated afterwards, because I got no calls.), broken entry doors, apartments falling apart themselves, or the newest trend, just leaving dog waste all over the premise, they can’t be bothered to help. We’ve had people stealing packages, there was a stolen car found here, people have broken into garages, I could go on and on. It’s frustrating for how much we pay for rent when again, management can’t be bothered to help fix your apartment. Especially because you know they’re going to gouge you the second you move out, even though the space you live in is obviously depreciating while no work goes into maintaining the units. Just all around frustrating, especially with how many long term tenants have finally said screw it and gave up and moved out due to all this."
"0 stars are deserved. If you would like maintenance crew to perform their hired duties, plan to fix it yourself. Asking either management team to help, will cause more problems than what you originally asked to help with. When I first moved in, absolutely no problems, except for one. It was May and the temperature began to increase. As the temperature outside was rising, my A/C continued to push out stale, hot air. A week had passed and I spent every night at my girlfriends place in order to sleep at night. Time after time, I submitted maintenance requests to have it fixed. Requests were ignored and I took it upon myself to call Waterbury to get things fixed. It took approximately 5 minutes to call and 2 hours before my A/C was fixed. Prior to taking the situation into my own hands, I called and spoke to Kelly and Jennifer. I communicated that my apartment was over 80 degrees and that I did not feel comfortable with the situation given I couldn’t actually “live” in my new apartment. I have asthma and I get asthmatic bronchitis when air quality is poor. They told me that their office is kept at the temperature and that I would be fine despite communicating that it was much too hot. Months had passed and I had no contact with property management or maintenance. Unfortunately, my garage door broke with my car inside. I called maintenance and my garage door was fixed 3 days later. For 3 days I paid for transportation to week b/c my car was in the broken garage. For the second time, I was left in a situation created by how poor the management is. Once again, I was left spending extra money to combat these problems. I communicated, each time, that I shouldn’t be left to pay full rent cost rather than a discounted amount to make up for the fees I was left to cover in finding transportation and a good way to sleep at night despite high temps. The final situation was created after re-new of a lease agreement. The lease agreement that I signed was a replica of the previous I had signed before moving in. On the agreement, it stated that renters must provide renters insurance proof. I went an entire year without renters insurance. Upon signing the new lease, everything was the same until one night, after work. Communication had stopped up until I came home to a letter that was a notice to vacate/quit. I’m caught by surprise as management backs the claim that they had reached out “too many” times. I confronted management and spoke to the lawyer who began the legal side of eviction. The eviction notice was taken back after I paid the lawyer fees. Only after I paid the lawyer fees, did I get the best performance out of Kelly and Jennifer. They were all sorts of friendly after I paid the extra fees for eviction plus the increase in rent as my lease had been terminated and I was moved to month-month basis. I continued month to month rent and after one month, I found a new place to live. After leaving the apartment and turning in my keys etc. , I was given a $1000 bill to replace the entirety of the kitchen island counter top. The countertop had a circular “burn mark” the size of a pop can. The bill has been settled long before this post b/c money was never the issue at Oxbow Park. Property management and maintenance could perform better if outside relationship wasn’t a problem. There should be no tolerance for petty actions on behalf of management for having to perform their job duties. There is an entire audio recording of all 3 ladies in the office confronting me for being aggressive while sitting on a couch. In the clip you can hear the bickering back and forth as well as the acknowledgment that they planned to go forward with charging me all the extra fees associated with the notice to quit, despite having the ability to reach and speak to their higher ups about the mix up that took place and ridding of all the extra charges I received. All in all, find a better place to live than Oxbow Park. Property and Maintenance management could use some change."
"The apartment is great! Very spacious kitchen which is always a plus! All rooms were in excellent condition when we arrived. Jennifer was very helpful and friendly when we arrived to retrieve our keys and let us know we could reach out to her at any time if we had any problems."
