"HR Block in Onawa, IA is a great place to go to have your taxes done. Meghann is such a wonderful tax agent. She is very knowledgeable and gets things done, as easy as ABC....123.... She gave me all of the information that I needed to make sure my taxes were filed appropriately. She also followed through with any of my tax questions. Great job! I will always highly recommend!!!"

"For the past 5 years the Onawa location has screwed up our taxes after charging an outrageous amount to do them (usually between $350-$400) then giving us a $25-$50 credit but increasing the amount we pay by that much. Last year they were having issues with the internet and still did our taxes saying they would put they on hold till the internet was fixed. Well guess what they sent them on without being able to review and got our entire refund put on their Emerald card. It costed us over $400 to get our refund off their card. When talking to them about it they said that they can give is a small discount on our taxes this year. Sorry but they should do our taxes for nothing since they screwed up. Would not recommend H&R Block in Onawa, Iowa at all. They are a bunch of screw jobs and seriously overpriced!"

"I talked to one of the tax pros at the Morning side location in Sioux City, Iowa on the phone prior to filing; as I was interested in the refund advance. I was told over the phone that I would “most likely” get approved for an advance because, other clients with the same filing status, deductions, and credits as me had been approved for one. So I made an appointment with great hopes of getting an advance. I went to my appointment and Nicole Musick prepared my taxes. As we were at the end of the filing process I asked about the refund advance and Nicole had informed me more about how it works and stated “Our returning clients are usually the ones who get approved for the big amounts i.e. $3,000, $1,250 but, I’m not saying that you may not get that amount. You should get at least a $500 or $250 advance”. I proceed to file my return with the ridiculous amount of $389 in fees and send off the application for the advance. Within an hour I get an email from H&R Block stating my advance application was denied and no reason was given as to why! I would highly recommend filing your tax return with TurboTax or by other means. I was baited into filing with them by the refund advance. If you’re looking for an advance I would go to Jackson Hewitt at least they have the courtesy to see if you’re approved first and for how much before having to file. Bad business ethics!!"
