About the Business
Extensions Dance Academy, located at 3108 Mount Vernon Road Southeast in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is dedicated to providing a well-rounded dance education program for children. Our goal is to create a fun, positive, and healthy learning environment that fosters confidence, poise, and a sense of accomplishment in each of our students. Whether they are dancing recreationally or competitively, our talented staff is committed to helping every student develop their skills and reach their full potential.
Our state-of-the-art studio features three dance rooms with Harlequin “floating” dance floors, two of which are covered in Marley and one in hardwood. Parents can watch their child's progress through large viewing windows or on a TV screen in room 3. Our facility also includes a spacious waiting area with cable TV and Wi-Fi, a dancer dressing room, clean restrooms, and an outdoor eating area. Additionally, our On Pointe Dance Boutique offers a wide selection of shoes and dancewear.
With convenient off-street parking, Extensions Dance Academy is the perfect place for children to explore their passion for dance and discover their strengths. Join us and let us help your child shine on the dance floor!

The studio’s commitment to their dancers’ education is phenomenal, and technique is the foundation for learning in all styles. In addition, the staff truly care about each of their dancers. Jen, the studio owner, is beyond talented. She is a gifted choreographer and teacher whose attention to detail is simply fantastic. She has selected staff with these same attributes. One of the things that makes this studio special, beyond the talented instructors and commitment to quality dance education, is it’s size. The teachers know each of their students. No one is just a name on a roster or ‘unseen’. And the dance families are kind and truly supportive of each other and all of the dancers at the studio. EDA embodies the term ‘dance family’. My daughter grew tremendously as a dancer and as a person during her five years at Extensions Dance Academy because of the teachers, other dancers and dance families at EDA. We are so very grateful to have found Extensions. The studio, and its people will always have a special place in our hearts."
