Reviews
"This review pertains only to the 200 Hour Foundational Guide Training (formerly Yoga Teacher Training) and NOT the yoga classes offered here. You’ve probably taken a class with the two gals who offer this training and you enjoyed it very much, because they are wonderful yoga teachers. But they are not educators. The Yoga Teacher Training program offered here is painfully bad. You’ll find yourself sitting on the floor for hours with very little movement. You’ll watch them demonstrate yoga poses without asking you to join. You’ll listen to them tell you all about anatomy and yoga philosophy, rather than inviting engaging discussion. These lecture sessions last over 90 minutes with no visual aids offered, no related reading material assigned and there’s even student shaming if they find that you don’t recall a previous lesson. If you ask for a chair, because your behind falls asleep, they’ll tell you that their teacher training was even more tedious than yours. They’ll give you a printed training schedule and then not adhere to it, starting class late and going right through the published lunch hour. If you can survive the 200 hours of torture, you might be on their Good Girl list, and then you can be a yoga teacher in their studio, complete with surveillance cameras to make sure you’re behaving. Spend your money literally anywhere else if you want to become a yoga teacher."
"Great class times. I forgot the woman’s name from a nice Sunday evening flow at the CR location (who left her notes out at the end of class). Amber’s Monday morning in NL was amazing. She is a wonderful teacher, loved my hour with her before boarding a plane. Thank you!"
"The North Liberty facility is nice, but the scheduling of class times isn't realistic for people who work during the day, especially beginner classes, which are mostly early -midday.There is a 730pm class, but it's for relaxation. Classes are often cancelled & schedule is very inconsistent. This is not a result of weather. Cancellations occur even in summer, on clear days, midday, and weekends. I have been watching the scheduling for quite some time. Some yoga classes play classic rock during the workout- no judgement, but that's not for me. I am giving two stars for the offerings, location, and infrared heat. The service end of things could be much improved."
"I am very thankful for heat yoga to come to North Liberty. I went to the Cedar Rapids Location years ago but it didn't fit with my work schedule. I love that we have 7:30 classes because i have to drive 20 mins home. I enjoy the Power Yoga on Thursday evenings it gives me a great work out. Then Friday if i am stiff i can do a relaxing class. I really enjoyed Betseys PiYoga class that was worth waking up at 5:00 for! I highly recommend this place because the classes are always rotating teachers but doing different stuff everyday to keep you wanting to come back more. I bought a unlimited membership and went 5 days a week or more. Come try it out you won't be sorry. You deserve this!"
"Beautiful new studio with radiant/infrared heat instead of forced air making the heat much more comfortable. Classes take place multiple times per day, which isn't offered at other locations in town. The monthly unlimited plans are cheaper than area competitors. These classes work for everyone, even if you are new to the practice, so don't feel intimated to join. If you let them know you are new to yoga, they can provide more attention and guidance to you during class. They are also the only business in the area with salt water floating tanks. Three showers are available in each restroom which are kept very clean and include toiletries. So far I've enjoyed all the instructors and you can attend as many classes as you want per day with the unlimited plan, so you get your monies worth!"
