"Our dog Lacey has been going to stay at Kountry Kennels for at least 10 years!! She loves staying with Karalyn. We have left her there many times for weekend trips and our longer trips that she has stayed for at least 10 days. Lacey is always so happy to see Karalyn because she treats every boarder with so much love. If you ask Karalyn even would send you a picture of your pet! Lacey gets walked 3-4 times a day which is more than she gets at home. The one thing I like is that she has a chair to lay on if owners are ok with that. The rates here are very reasonable. Would definitely rec having your pet stay here and be pampered."
"We have been taking our dog here for several years. She loves the attention she receives, the kennel is ALWAYS spotless. The grounds are also groomed and she is taken out multiple times a day for walks and potty breaks. She is eager to stay and certainly shows no signs of neglect. We have always taken her familiar items with her and since she sleeps on a chair she does have a chair in the kennel, but since this is optional we find it a nice touch. Our schedules have always been accomodated even with last minute change of plans. Will continue to have her stay here. Our friends are of like mind."
"We have been bringing Charlie here for along time. We even left on a 23 day trip and he loves staying there. He gets all excited. You can have a chair in the kennel if you want to but she will take it our if you choose not to. We choose not to because we don't want Charlie to get on the furniture at home. She respects that and takes it out. She walks Charlie 4 times a day and plays with him. She also has volunteers who come in and walk the dogs. The rooms are quite large. 7 x 14 They are quite clean and she is State certified and vet certified. The state requires kennel cough and rabbies and distemper. She follows it. This is a great place to take your dog. Her prices are reasonable, too. We don't take Charlie anywhere."
"We have taken our dog to this kennel for 8 years. He has always been very well taken care of. The owner has asked specific questions to ensure that she can meet his changing needs as an older dog, including changes in food or medication. Although they do not have a webpage, their focus is on the comfort and quality care given to the dogs in their care. Our dog does not exhibit stress when he is being dropped off, nor does he have any issues when returning home. When we leave our dog here we are confident that he is being cared for as well as he would be at home. I would, and have, recommend Kountry Kennel to many pet owners!"
"I am writing this review so other dog owners are saved from wasting their time and from stressful situations. I first contacted Kountry Kennel via text message and asked if they had a website so that I could fill out information to board my dogs there. They do not have a website, which was very interesting to me. The other dog kennels I have used in the past all have websites so that they made sure to get the necessary information about the dogs being boarded there. All of the information they asked for about my dogs was coming through sporadic text messages. The replies I got were unprofessional and often highly delayed. I messaged a question about drop-off times and did not get a reply until about 3 weeks later. Today I finally got a reply back from them and they also randomly asked, “can they have furniture” They were referring to my two dogs, who both recently turned 1, and I replied, “They both can be destructive if left alone so I would recommend no furniture.” The response I got after that was quite puzzling: “I've talked it over with the walkers since we just got done with12 days of destruction dogs they said no sorry” I am highly confused why I wasn't asked this furniture question immediately when I contacted this business if this is part of their criteria. This question was asked to me a couple of days before I was going to bring my dogs to Kountry Kennel so I could go out of town for a family reunion that we have been planning for months. I don't understand why furniture is in the dog kennels. No other kennel I have boarded my dogs at has had this. Dogs don't need furniture and kennels should not have anything inside them that isn't dog proof. If furniture is put inside the space where a dog is being boarded, why can’t it be moved out temporarily? Why isn’t there an option? When dogs are separated from their owners, they are more prone to have anxiety, which sometimes is shown through destructive behavior, hence why dog kennels are supposed to be dog proof. In summary, I am scrambling to find a new dog kennel last minute because Kountry Kennel randomly decided they can’t handle any more of their furniture being destroyed by dogs. Having a “non-destructive dog” was never in their criteria because they don’t really have criteria because they don’t have a website. They have unreliable text messaging. I truly hope this business can make a turnaround and learn some customer service skills. Heartland Pet Resort by Spencer is a great example. I really wanted to give Kountry Kennel a try because it was closer to where I live and on the way to my trip destination, but since my 1 year-old dogs “can” be destructive, they are not allowed. It’s okay though, they got a great behavior report from Heartland Pet Resort so I guess I will continue to take my business there."
