"I was doing the 30-day Spiritual Exercises while staying in one of the apartments. I came down with intense food poisoning from my own cooking. The staff left a gift basket outside my door, with soups, Sprites, crackers, Pepto, Tylenol, vitamin C, tissues, a new fleece blanket, and a couple COVID tests, just in case. (Tested negative!) Terri Lou, Kathy, Fr Bob, Chrissy, Tim, and the rest of the staff are first-class, as are the direction, the facilities, and the wooded location. A hidden gem of Jesuit retreat centers!"

"I found some photo's I took of your retreat back when it was a Boy Scout Camp named Camp Wacconda. That would have been back in the late 1950's. It was an excellent camp. There were 6 camping units on a trail going to the river and one more called Plum and Nearly. Called that because it was plum out of camp and nearly up to the County Road. Each unit was equipped with army tents with cots and would house an entire Boy Scout troop each. I will send pictures of the mess hall and swimming pool. We had many trails down to the river we would hike and there were many more Scout activities. Fond memories. I moved out of Iowa in 1965 and spent my career designing engines for GM but I sometimes think about the time I spent there."
