"Very Kind, Friendly Awesome People!! However, that does not guarantee a good fitting Socket in the end, Sorry to say but a year or so after my first prosthetic was fitted it was not fitting correctly nor comfortable at all. I went back numerous times for fitting of what should've been a second prosthetic, Many trips (about 200 miles rnd trp) again many trips for casting/fitting of test sockets to get no fit! Finally, after many trips, I gave up only because they were going to charge me more for all their messed up test sockets, and the fact we was not getting a fit after several attempts. Short is I ended up continuing to use what I had with many more socks as an aid to a non fitting prosthetic. 6 years goes by, uncomfortable years of using what I had. I reached a point I could not use mine to walk without excruciating discomfort and pain. So I try them again and had test sockets done 4-5 visits.. I then had medical emergency and was not able to get right back so 2 months went by, then went got my final Socket foot and all. Didn't even make it home with it on, had to stop and remove it. So back I went and the whole process started again. Multiple trips for casting and such, then test sockets, only to get another final that didn't fit correctly. It felt good for about an hour. So i went back only to be more less told they can't do anymore. It's back to my old one, only one I've ever had that does not fit very well at all. I have to use several socks with it, can only use it a couple hours a day without terrible discomfort then excruciating pain. As I was getting my old stuff back on, I was ask: "Are you really going to keep using all those socks?" My reply: "like I have a choice?" I was upset that I wasted another collectable shirt for the design on another Socket that they messed up, it didn't fit anything like the previous test Socket! Without naming anyone, I was left with the impression that they was not going to continue to get one casted and fitting right. So yes I had no choice at that point. A real sickening feeling to say the least. I know I will never run a marathon but I sure would like to be able to walk without pain and sores. If not for privacy, I would post the pictures of my limb bruised and sore after trials of test sockets and such. Then it took over 4 months to get the refund. I like everyone there and that makes it harder. All I wanted is a usable good fitting comfortable prosthetic that was obviously not achieved here very sadly! I'm glad to see other people have great experiences here. I wish everyone the very best."
"My main prosthetics experience with the crew in Des Moines is always stellar. Ben Mike Brooke and Stephanie are a joy to work with"
"Ben and office manager Alissa have Ben nothing but helpful during this entire process. I recommend the 411 Laurel st to anyone who lost a limb."
"Mike Brown is very good at helping you get where you need to be! I’ve had a prosthetic leg since 2015 and I’ve had 3 new sockets and have had no sore spots on any of them! Mike takes his time to make sure things fit the way they are supposed to! Anybody in the Des Moines Iowa area I strongly recommend you get a hold of him for your prosthetic needs!!"
"Mike Brown at Hanger Clinic, DSM, IA.....you need to be recognized for a job well done... I tagged you on Facebook..... Becki Bieghler Pigg and Leslie Velazquez shared Russ Trimble - West Des Moines City Council's post. Russ Trimble - West Des Moines City Council August 11 at 2:31pm · The city council recently met with the park board to discuss upping our game on quality of life amenities in WDM. What quality of life amenity would you like to see most? We are talking about things like libraries, parks, trails, aquatic centers, sculpture gardens, etc etc. Is there some cool amenity that you have seen elsewhere in the country that you think we should have in WDM? Cool play equipment? Water trails? Splash parks? Ice rink? Outdoor amphitheater??? Boat rentals??? Looking for something unique that would make a big splash. Suggestions??? Becki Bieghler shared Russ Trimble - West Des Moines City Council's post. 7 mins · Something Unique.............As a new amputee AND thanks to Mike Brown at Hanger Clinic in DSM, IA ...... I now have a new prosthetic leg. It has been 8 months since I have been able to walk. It would be a hugh asset to West Des Moines, IA to provide the same access to the quality of life amenities mentioned above. Now there is a challenge. ...Wanna Race......?????? Peace Love Happiness.
