"Took about 4 weeks for them to tell me my lawn mower would be $1200 to fix. My lawn mower didn't cost that much brand new, but they were able to bring it back for me free of charge and snapped off some extra parts in the process. A+ work, guys."
"Don't take your Stihl chainsaw to Hiawatha for service. I took mine there and called to check on it at the end of 2 weeks. I was put on hold for a while then asked for my phone number so they could call me back and give me an update. I never got a call back. At the end of 3 weeks I called again.....same thing, I was put on hold, then asked for my phone number so they could call me back, which they never did. As we approached 4 weeks I called again for an update. I was told they hadn't looked at it yet and they didn't know when they would be able to. I promptly went and took it somewhere else. Very disappointed. 6/28 update: Shortly after the reply from P&K below asking me to contact them via email I sent them a message detailing my experience as they requested and I received no reply."
"My girlfriend’s John Deere rider has been having some misfiring issues. It’s been to them at least three times. We use non ethanol fuel as we are particular about her equipment. One time they had to come get it again as they had forgotten to tighten the carburetor. The tractor still misfired and back it went. This time they called and said they couldn’t replicate the problem. They called for authorization for mower deck repairs. After the windstorm they called to return the mower. As we were pushing it into the garage the entire hood assembly FELL off. Found large scratches across the hood and the hood brackets broken and not even secured. Upon calling service they said, “oh yea it was damaged in the storm but we thought you might want it.” Said they were going to order the parts and “forgot” to tell us it had been damaged. Also the bill said they were able to replicate the problem and did other fuel work not authorized or discussed. We realize the storm has changed everything but something isn’t kosher here. We contacted corporate headquarters and was promised a call that afternoon. That was 3 days ago and we’ve yet to hear anything. You draw your own conclusions."
"Brought in an off brand mower to get serviced and repaired, as when I called they said it would only take 1-2 weeks max, as they were the shortest wait in town. Didn't get a response for 3 and a half weeks and had to call them for status updates. The staff was always kind and nice to me and were tentative whenever I came in person to be fair, and the estimate I was finally given I was fine with paying and told them to order the part. They said, "Great, we'll order the part and get it done next week." Called a week and a half later to get a progress update, and they explain they are having trouble ordering the part that needed repair and have done no service or work on the mower as a result. So over a full month and a few days, not only did my mower either get ignored or pushed behind other work orders, but they ignored a willing to pay customer for the work that was ordered and promised, and none of this was communicated until I initiated it. Ended up going and picking up the mower in the same condition I dropped it off in. DO NO GO HERE IF YOU DO NOT OWN A JOHN DEERE. YOU WILL BE IGNORED AS AN AFTER THOUGHT. Very disappointed and I hope they can improve on their customer service and service department policies. I will not TRY to be a customer here again. Edit 6/11/2020- Since writing this review Kevin the store manager called me to try and clear up some things and apologize, I voiced my concerns to him and he seemed genuinely sorry that I was not satisfied. He explained the part situation, which after trying to hunt down the part myself, I understood the difficulty of that, especially when you don't have a contract with a specific brand for those parts, so that was cleared up no worries on their part. He also apologized for the poor communication that was involved and said they would try to improve based on my experience. Overall upped from a 1 star to a 3 star, while my issue wasn't taken care of, the staff was very kind and gave an apology for the mishaps and said they would try and improve in the future. So I will reward kindness and responsibility with a more deserved score. Maybe one day I can bring in a John Deere to help redeem themselves further."
"You guys are thieves that stole a zero turn from my family. They did all the service on a mower with 150hrs on it. The engine blew up and p&k told us they wouldn't do anything about it. So we were talking to John Deere corporate hoping the would warranty it. In the mean time P&K claims they threw it away. A like new mower with 150 hour on it. No phone calls, no emails, no paperwork and no certified letters. Just threw it away. Now they will not do anything about scrapping our mower. Its criminal and will definitely be taking them to court."
