"Saw Krissy Zechmann here several years ago. When I first saw her, I told her I felt I probably had OCD and she immediately told me I didn't and diagnosed me with unspecified anxiety disorder instead. I was later diagnosed with OCD. Although the therapy did help some, all my progress was immediately erased as soon as Covid started. I also told her at one point I was worried I had depression, and she had me fill out a screening and told me I didn't have depression and asked me why a diagnosis "mattered." I was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I was first diagnosed with depression around age 6 or 7 and I think it never actually went away. I wish more therapists would make an effort to understand how important a correct diagnosis is."
"Absolutely DO NOT come here for any kind of mental health assistance. I’ve finally reached my breaking point with this facility. Not only have I been talked down to by staff, I have been made fun of right in front of me by front desk personnel, and had to play phone tag between the psychiatrist and my pharmacy to get meds that quite literally keep me sane. These people don’t care about their clients/patients. You’re not a person to them, you’re simply a paycheck. Absolutely disgusting business practices here. I will never be going back nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone, especially not those I care about. Shame on you Great Plains Mental Health."
"I came to Great Plains when my entire world was crashing down. I was hesitant to even go to therapy because it had never worked before. I just can't get out of my own head. But, my therapist and the Great Plains staff have changed my view. They are understanding and truly care about me, and not just because I'm their patient. I walk out of my appointments feeling like I'm ready to take on what's next, and when I fall from that feeling, they are there to catch me. I recommend them to anyone I know and will continue to do so."
"DO NOT GO HERE FOR THERAPY. They are the most rude and uncaring people I’ve ever had the misfortune of being linked up with, and the most ironic thing about it is that they claim to care about people’s mental well being. I honestly get treated better by my veterinarian office than an actual mental health office. I have been going through a depression crisis and needed a therapist to talk about the serious issues I’ve been having, and was referred to by my psych (again, unfortunately, and honestly she only referred me because there were no other therapists with appointment availability) to see Krissy Zechmann. I made the appointment and still had to wait 3 weeks for the next available slot. When my appointment finally came around, was stuck late at work and called the front desk to inform them. They said that was okay and they informed Krissy that I would be 10 minutes late. When we arrived (my mother came too for moral support. Going to therapy is never easy for me and now I will never go back), we were checked in by the very curt and unfriendly front desk staff. After getting fully checked in, they got a phone call and then informed me that the therapist didn’t want to see me because we were late. Which blew my mind because we had called and let them know we were going to be late. I was visibly upset and crying and my mom was tearing up too, asking if there was anything they could do to accommodate me since I left work as early as I could. She (the therapist, she decided to grace us with her presence when we were already checked in) then (very condescendingly) said “well, are you in danger of hurting yourself?” “Well no-“ “then I can’t see you today.” I’m not going to lie. I made a remark how this is why I never like going to therapists, and that they only care about time and money. I then sat down and cried and left the building. My poor mom tried to get me an appointment for the next day, but I was then called and said “my behavior was so inappropriate and despicable” and that they would be cancelling my appointment that we had made with a different therapist. The manager Erin was BEYOND rude to me (and also my mother, who is s doctor) on the phone. They are beyond rude, condescending, and honestly made my mental health and frustrations and situation worse than it was before. Do not go here, unless you wanted to be treated like “just a number”, and if you want to feel worse going in than you ever did going out. Also, if you have emotions and are going through a mental health crisis. Do. Not. Go. Here."
