"I’m seeing a doctor that is prescribing me a medication for a condition he doesn’t fully believe I have. He has asked for video proof, after a full TWO YEARS of prescribing me this medication, because he says he’s “suspicious” now. Again, after prescribing me a medication to treat the condition he doesn’t believe I have. Dr. Brian Boes by the way. So you just prescribe medication like it’s candy? You don’t believe I have the condition you’re treating me for? Hmmmm. There is evidence in the ER that I have had a seizure under the ER nurses and DRs. Care! This whole two years he has told me no work, no driving for six months after every seizure. Even put restrictions on me bathing and swimming and told me it was unsafe to have kids and he recommended I don’t plan on getting pregnant anytime soon. Todays visit was different because a couple of years ago when the seizures continued I applied for SSI, and I have been denied twice, so I am in the part of the process where I hire an attorney to represent my case, and my attorney requested that I request at least two doctors to fill out a seizure questionnaire, detailing my seizures. So I brought one to Dr. Boes office, hoping he would be the kind of doctor to support it. After he asked me about my most recent seizures, I told him about a new symptom I’ve been having, to see if he might know what it is, and he made a weird face at me like I was making it up or something, and he says it sounds stress related and asks me if I’m stressed. I am always stressed. I have PTSD. There is not a moment where I don’t feel at least a little bit, so I started mentioning how I applied for SSI, and start to pull the folder that I put the Seizure questionnaire in and before I could even form a question to ask him if he could fill it out he starts cutting me off saying “you won’t get it” so I tried to speak again, he cuts me off again “you won’t get it” tried to speak again he cuts me of again “you won’t get it” happened at least 6 times before I got very frustrated and said “okay but why are yo not letting me talk” then he puts his hands up and goes “sorry sorry” like now I’m the rude one ? So I continue to explain I would still like to try to get it because I have been out of work for two years, and he asks me why, as if he doesn’t know the obvious answer, so i said “because you told me I cannot work for six months after every seizure” he had the audacity, and apparently the courage to gaslight me and tell me he never said that. Even though I have had my fiancé with me at every appointment to witness that he has said that to me. Several times. I would not make that up. I would not waste my time for two years trying to get supplemental security income, for no reason. You only qualify if you’re found disabled & cannot work due to your disability. I wouldn’t have applied if I was not told I couldn’t work due to my disability. But of course, the unprofessional, condescending, rude, had to gaslight me because I pulled some paperwork out to ask him to fill out. It all boiled down to Dr. Boes telling me he won’t fill it out, he won’t do anything associated with social security. And that is completely fine. Obviously doctors get to choose what they want to do regarding these things, but if he were professional, and SMART, he would have just said “I don’t work with stuff like that. I won’t fill out anything for social security so I am not going to fill that out for you. I am uncomfortable doing that.” And left it at that. But I’m afraid st. Anthony hired a child in a grown man’s body because it sure seemed like he was getting a kick out of upsetting me and didn’t even try to de escalate the situation. Hes “suspicious” now because of the way I reacted to his gaslighting and disregard. I was shaking, and sweating, and clearly upset. I have anxiety as well. He’s a psychiatrist and a neurologist and couldn’t tell I was borderline anxiety/panic attack mode and it made him “suspicious”. At the end of the appointment he also wanted to accuse me of lying to the nurse about my last two seizures. Horrible DR!!"
