"I’ve been here over 2 years now. Recently the kitchen staff walked out, and they brought in a couple of Spanish speaking cooks who don’t speak English. On occasion there are two Spanish speaking aides here. No one else can talk to them. Any dietary needs are unable to be met. (Special dietary needs). They used to hand out menus to pick what foods were able to eat. Now the menu just tells you what they have given you, in case it doesn’t taste or look like it is supposed to be. The aides are mostly from a traveling agency, and the chances that they will stay are remote, as they travel to the next location. Even the admin, activity, and other head staff change every few months. The religious people who come are pretty regular as they are volunteers. The people who clean the rooms are very good and we have a dedicated Director of Nursing and Deputy Director of Nursing have been here all along. They have some excellent nurses and medpass people here. The government does not give free Covid vaccines anymore, so they don’t give them unless it’s covered by your insurance. You will get your flu shot. The last Covid vaccine would have cost $ 125.00. My social security check would not have covered it and my stay here.. When I arrived here I had a ppo Medicare, but in the nursing home, it had to be changed to regular Medicare. I hope this information helps you."
