"Had such a terrible experience. As soon as I entered the ER, the lady at the front desk did not acknowledge me. She was typing on her computer the whole time. It was not busy, otherwise I would have understood. I was placed in the hallway for the majority of my visit right under the vent. I wasn’t given a blanket or anything until very much later. The nurses were very rude and stuck up, to be specific a nurse there named Helen. She had a smirk on her face whenever I would speak with her. I also caught her and a doctor talking about me laughing in a room and when they saw that I saw them, they quickly turned their smiles down and it looked like their stomach dropped. When you go to the hospital you go to be comforted, not looked down upon. I am highly disappointed in Mercy. It seems to me like they just hire anybody."
"Great experience this morning with my 9 year old son. They got him in immediately and everyone treated him like he was their own child. All the procedures were done quickly and as a mom I felt so grateful and blessed. Thanks to all the staff today at Mercy! You are priceless."
"Do not go here. The front desk receptionist is rude. I took my son in (whose a toddler) and had a fever over 103 degrees, low O2 stats, fast heartrate, and trouble breathing. After 3 hours of waiting I asked the ER receptionist how much longer of a wait it would be and she plainly yelled at me. This was after about three people went infront of us. I left without having him seen and drove an hour to a hospital that I trust. They were able to get him and treat him right away."
"Don’t go to MercyOne ER. I was having severe chest pains, trouble breathing and nauseous. I checked myself in to the ER. I told the Check-in Clerk I thought I was having a heart attack. She seemed disinterested and SLOWLY asked for name, insurance info, allergies & just let me stand at the window. I spent 3 hrs laying in a cold, closed door room only seeing a nurse 2 times, a lab tech who took my blood sample from my THUMB, and the ER doctor. Doctor determined I did not have a heart attack but didn’t know what caused my pain. He told me, if it happens again, come back. Why? There were only two other older patients in the ER while I was there. I was not impressed with the lack of attention from the two nurses on duty as they were having a good laugh at the nurses’ station. The environment did not appear shiny clean like you find at St. Luke’s or the Dunes Surgery Center. I WILL NOT be returning MercyOne!!!! Since my ER visit to MercyOne, my husband was taken by ambulance 11/28/20 with a pulmonary embolism to St. Luke’s ER. The level of care and urgency was impressive. He had emergency surgery and back home within 48 hours."
