"It’s Saturday and our vet is closed. This morning we woke up to our 16yr old Westie in respiratory distress and not wanting to move. We looked up local vet clinics open on Saturday and none of them would squeeze us in, then my husband called this place and explained our situation. They put us on hold for several minutes and then said that Dr. Yanda had agreed to see our old girl. He confirmed what we feared, she was in heart failure and her lungs were filling with fluid. He gently explained that with her age, even with treatment, she wouldn’t last much longer. He guided us through the euthanasia process with kindness and empathy. We were not rushed and when our sweet old girl went to sleep, we were allowed time to stay with her and say final goodbyes even though they had closed for the day. When we left the room, the place was empty, except for the staff waiting for us. They had a little candle burning at the front desk with a sign letting people know that someone was saying goodbye to their beloved pet. This was such an awful, heartbreaking day for our family, but we can’t thank Dr. Yanda enough for his support and compassion as we said goodbye to our beloved family member."
